Antonio update

West Ham scoring hero Michail Antonio looks set for a place on the bench against Sheffield United a week on Sunday.

The Hammers travel to Bramall Lane for a game which pitches our in form quad into action against the Blades – stranded at the bottom with just one point from eight outings.

Initially it was believed by some that Antonio could be out for as long as six to eight weeks but he has made rapid progress – probably thanks to a long term hamstring management programme ahead of the injury – and is looking good for a place in the squad.

The Hammers medical team have had him under constant supervision and currently believed that a place on the bench on November 22 is a realistic scenario.

An appearance would mean the Irons have a near 100 per cent fit squad but it would also give Sebastian Haller another chance of making his presence felt after an improved performance against Fulham

  1. Good if he is back , that will be a tough match so need to match their energy ⚒

  2. I’d let him have another week of recovery given we all know how fragile his hamstrings are!

  3. If he’s ok for the bench he should start, if he’s not 100% he shouldn’t be in the squad for Bramall Lane.

  4. Don’t bring him back too soon as before only to lose him for a much longer period!
