No Hammers legal action

Claret and Hugh can tonight reveal that the London Legacy  Development Corporation (LLDC) is all set to appeal against the demand to reveal details in the confidential Olympic Stadium agreement struck with the Irons.

And we have been told that speculation  West Ham could take legal action by seeking a court injunction or a judicial review is incorrect.

The demandto reveal details of the deal  came from Information Commissioners Office (ICO)  after Charlton Athletics Supporters’ Trust (CAST) made a Freedom of Information request to see the agreement in full.

However important details were blacked out on grounds of commercial confidentiality. That request was the catalyst which led to the Guardian article by Owen Gibson, the BBC documentary in August and the petition from a coalition of 14 Supporters’ trusts.

The Charlton Group complained to the ICO and that was was upheld with the LLDC given 35 days to comply from the 3rd September.

Yesterday London Mayor, Boris Johnson said he had nothing to hide telling the London Assembly  “I would be perfectly happy to publish the details of the arrangement, I understand the football club concerned is not so keen because they think it will give other clubs an inside into their finances and so forth.”

It will be up LLDC to appeal the ICO decision as West Ham United is not a public body and not subject to Freedom of Information but sources close to the club understand that an appeal is imminent.

  1. Got to love the mob on Charlton Life. Its all about the tax payer. They are doing all their sniffing around for the tax payers of the country. Is there anyone who actually believes they are doing it for the tax payer.Bet they cant even look in the mirror & tell themselves it is their main motivation for this campaign of theirs.PraguePr#ck & his minions, what a bunch of losers. All 10 or 15 of them who appear on the OS thread.Men who need a cause in life, sad bunch!

  2. I must say that i have never seen a group of football fans so devoted & concerned about the tax payers money. What a selfless, hard working group of guys & gals they are.Nice to see it is nothing to do with rivalries, jealousy or **** stirring. It is all for the good of the British tax payer, lol, sure it is 😀

  3. Obviously so every vindictive supporters at Charlton. The saving the taxpayer bit is complete nonsense but you can always find small minded and petty people like this in every walk of life. I know nothing about the BBC documentary but do know from our own state broadcaster, that they love spending our money to produce programs purporting to be in the interest of saving our money.

  4. It is funny on the Charlton Life thread about the OS.Sometimes they lose their poise & let out little rants which show that some of them couldnt care less about the tax payer (not that any of us believe that their fighting for the tax payer) & show a green-eyed monster hidden behind their carefully chosen words.Pure jealousy is behind their campaign.Since when has a group of Charlton fans or any football fans group given a flying f*ck about the tax payers of Britain, lol 😉

  5. Does it matter? Nope. Do we care? Not really. Do we have a great new stadium to move into next season? Yep. Are the supposed taxpaying protectors of the Supporters Trusts jealoys, bitter and sad people? Yes again.

But can they do anything about it other than generate a drawn-out whining noise? Nope…..

  6. Even many Charlton fans are embarressed by them.Tells you all you need to know about the baboons really 😉

  7. Very sad considering how close the Hammers have been to them over the years.
