Alphonse Areola starts in goal in West Ham United’s Premier League season opener at AFC Bournemouth.

He makes the starting XI for just the fourth time in the Premier League since his summer 2021 move from Paris Saint-Germain.

A back four of Vladimír Coufal, Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd and Emerson will sit in front of Areola, with Zouma named as skipper for the day.

Paquetá, who scored a towering header in last season’s 4-0 victory at the Cherries, will feature in the heart of the Hammers’ midfield, alongside Tomáš Souček.
