Argentinian striker agrees to join West Ham

|

calleriJonathan Calleri has agreed to join West Ham on loan subject to him having his work permit application  approve in one week’s time said chairman’s son Jack Sullivan.

Speaking on twitter young Jack confirmed “Calleri has agreed to come however, it is subject to a work permit application in a weeks time.”

Calleri is a descendant of an Italian family and said to be eligible to receive an EU passport which would allow him to travel and work in the EU without the need for a work permit but he has problems obtaining an Italian passport.

RR Very HighEarlier this week Sambafoot claimed he had been granted an EU passport paving his loan to West Ham but Jack’s tweet contradicts that and it appears he will go through the normal work permit process.

The 22-year-old was signed by Uruguayan second-tier side in a €11m deal in January from Boca Juniors where he had been playing with former Hammer Carlos Tevez, before being immediately sent out on loan to Brazilian giants Sao Paolo where he’s netted 16 goals. Calleri is said to have consulted Tevez for advice about joining West Ham.

Just hope payet’s not taking it to easy ! Boy do we need them to pull the strings .
Not keen on bacca though ! Why does he need another 48 hrs ?? Is it because he is hoping for C/L chance ?? If not , 90 k a week ! Imagine , bacca and carol both injured , £180 k for Nada.

Liking Callieri for all the reasons I’m not liking Bacca: Age + price, and with a lower price comes less arrogance, so better team spirit. Looks like a finisher and knows where to be at the right time…bit of a Michael Owen?…

I remember that Traore agreed to sign for us from Monaco only for us to go through all hoops and over all the hurdles then sign for Everton if my memory is correct… I don’t know why we don’t get players to sign contracts subject to conditions in the same way a mortgage is signed subject to survey, hopefully this guy will be more honourable than that one and we do sign him, he is certainly not the finished article so we will have to hope he comes good even if we do sign him.

Footballers have the same employment rights as any other person, there are not many people who would join a firm if they were offered a better job (in their opinion) elsewhere.

I agree essex…but clearly not if you are Scott Parker and go to Spurs! I still feel sick about the wholesale booing he got…Why wasn’t he, in the twilight of his career – after 4 fantastic years at WHU entitled to try to play in Champs League and with his favourite player, Modric? Of course I know why; cos he went to Spurs…Ridiculous!
