Armero joins on loan

armeroNapoli’s Pablo Armera has joined West Ham United on loan until the end of the season as we indicated earlier this afternoon.

We reported that talks had been going on throughout the day and Napoli have now confirmed the Colombian international is on his way to the Londoners.

He has been brought in quickly for injured Joey O’Brien who is out for several weeks after dislocating a shoulder at Chelsea.

The player has no problems gaining a work permit as he has played 93 per cent of games for Colombia which gives him automatic entitlement as a top world player.

We understand that the paperwork has been completed and the player will now have a medical in Italy.

Armera usually plays as left wing-back and is renowned for his pace and stamina. He can also play as a full-back and winger.

A source told us exclusively: “This looks like the top signing the Hammers have made in the window – he really is outstanding.”
