Arnie’s brother releases statement

The brothers Arnautovic

Marko Arnauotvic’s brother who is also his agent has released a statement through TalkSport

Danijel Arnautovic said:“West Ham bought Marko for peanuts. They paid £20m for him, which is nothing in the current market. They bought him to keep them in the Premier League last season and he did that. He took every award at the club; best player, signing of the season and the players’ award. Now West Ham have a fantastic offer. It is close to double what they paid for him. He wants to go to a new market and challenge for titles. This is what he wants. It is his great desire that West Ham accept the offer from China. He knows the West Ham fans love him and he has a special connection with them, but things move on, this is the world of sport, and he hopes they can understand.“Marko is professional and is preparing himself for the Arsenal game. He will give 100 per cent for West Ham. That is Marko. He will never change.Until he is no longer a West Ham player, he will give everything to the club.He hopes the fans can respect his wishes.”

A West Ham spokesman has told Claret and Hugh “Marko has a contract and we fully expect him to honour it. He is not for sale”

Claret and Hugh say:  So the cat is finally out of the bag, head of Talksport Lee Clayton’s source is none other than Arnie’s brother Danijel Arnautovic. That was such a surprise! Not!  Despite the statement, there is no mention of the phantom Chinese club in question and you are left wondering whether this is all part of the agent’s not so clever game. The club has made it clear their player is not for sale and they expect him to honour his contract. We shall wait and see whether the club is identified in the near future.

  1. Challenge for titles in China ?. The chinese league is like a money funded retirement home for ageing players past their best. The only reason his brother wants this is down to the money he will receive and has nothing to do with footballing ambition.Bloody agents are turning the game into a circus.

  2. Arnie is a must keep,he is the best striker at the club by a country mile but his brother is a real annoying pest,I wish arnie would tell him to butt out(Obviously won’t)

  3. Wow really Arnie wants to go to China a downgrade to West Ham , not a great agent really even though it’s his brother. Besides Arnie just wants a new contract to continue to give his best to us. . Come on China to win titles give me a break . Besides why should we accept the offer he’s under contract and even if we accept an offer it needs to be upped considerably . Arnie is a professional I am sure he will stay until summer & give his best . At that stage we could accept an offer but more than is being offered now or we could renegotiate his contract and try and keep him which would be my preferred option. If Arnie wants to go I respect that bit I would want him to wait until the summer so at least we could replace him but rather we don’t have to.

  4. His brother looks and sounds like a mercenary, players agents are just as bad as dodgy owners we have had a few of both over the years. If only we could get rid of them…

  5. I’m sorry but they are both a pair of absolute tools.. Arnie is a good player but as a person a total idiot and his brother is just a total greedy totosser.. Don’t sell if they do they wAnt 60 plus

  6. Maybe offer Jack and Andy for £35mill shipped over as “HANDLE WITH CARE DELICATE CHINA”

  7. Scored 13 goals in December whilst Arnie was injured , think he came off at Cardiff 1st Dec?Lets not get carried away about one player, as good as he is . Personally I think he maybe a character in the changing room who maybe a bit “marmite”. For me nobody is bigger than the club, so lets test his devotion to the fans and club and go for the big Chinese bucks, thats if he really wants to go there. I trust our manager to sort it out for the good of the club.

  8. This stuff about ‘He loves the fans BUT…’ is beginning to sound familiar E.g. Payet. Unless he has a very strange relationship with his brother/agent I doubt whether he would let him come out & say the stuff about wanting to move on if he didn’t want to. And once a modern player has got that in his head it is hard to get him to honour his contract in terms of 100% effort for the club that pays him. Sad but that’s the way it is. I still think we should hold on to him until the summer, but I reckon his best performances for us may be in the past.
