Former Hammers manager and player Harry Redknapp has resigned as QPR Manager today because immediate knee replacement surgery means he can’t continue to fully commit to the struggling club. QPR sit deep in relegation trouble in 19th in the Premier League.
“Surgery is going to stop me from doing my job in the coming weeks,” Redknapp said in a statement on the QPR website “If I can’t give 100 per cent, I feel it’s better for someone else to take over the reins.”
Redknapp informed chairman Tony Fernandes of his decision early Tuesday. Despite the surgery announcement Redkanpp is still priced at 25/1 to become the next West Ham manager.
