‘Arry resigns

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - West Ham United v Queens Park Rangers - Upton ParkFormer Hammers manager and player Harry Redknapp has resigned as QPR Manager today because immediate knee replacement surgery means he can’t continue to fully commit to the struggling club. QPR sit deep in relegation trouble in 19th in the Premier League.

“Surgery is going to stop me from doing my job in the coming weeks,” Redknapp said in a statement on the QPR website “If I can’t give 100 per cent, I feel it’s better for someone else to take over the reins.”

Redknapp informed chairman Tony Fernandes of his decision early Tuesday. Despite the surgery announcement Redkanpp is still priced at 25/1 to become the next West Ham manager.

  1. Sounds like Arry has timed elective surgery to give himself an excuse to walk away.

  2. Good timing for ‘Arry. They do little to no business in the market to bolster their squad then he deciedes the next day an op on his knee means he must resign.Yeah ok ‘Arry,we will all play along with this reason 😉

  3. So here starts the conspiracy theory that harry redknap is favourite to take over from big Sam in the summer for our last season at Upton park.

  4. Perhaps they agreed it while discussing jarvis zarate last night.

  5. Would certainly liven things up at the club and play a bit more attacking football, I doubt it will happen though. Sam is unlikely to be offered a new contract unless he somehow manages to beat teams in the top six something he has failed to do consistently throughout his career. The next two months is all hard games which could drain the confidence levels if we don’t get some results. I would say that unless we get through in the cup (not being thrown out by FIFA) we have a tough few weeks coming up. Lets hope that Sakho is cleared to play again and he and Valencia can do what they did at the start of the season cause mayhem in big teams defences, COYI !!!

  6. Just goes to show you, when the “ace” wheeler dealer can’t do his “deals” and spend obsene amounts of other people’s money, he chooses to walk (or is that hobble?) away!

  7. Harry to Bournemouth, Howe to us.

  8. Now, that sounds like a good plan!
