Arsenal linked with move for Tim Steidten

Tim Steidten is reportedly a target to join Arsenal as their Sporting Director, following Edu’s resignation several days ago, in order to join Nottingham Forest.

Steidten has been seen less and less at the West Ham training ground, whilst his brother Moritz has also been conspicuous by his absence.

The German claimed that he saw West Ham as a “5 year project” yet fell out with David Moyes  and was subsequently banned from the dressing room and the training ground during the latter part of last season. Having spent a £155m war chest this summer, bringing in nine signings, he allegedly has had issues with Julen Lopetegui and some of the back room staff.
In a season where the Head Coach has come under scrutiny, with Everton being dubbed “el sackio” the latest rumours around Steidten will add further instability to the club.
Arsenal will want to undertake significant due dilligence on their next hire, and other names that are in the frame include  Leonardo, Ralph Rangnick, Phil Giles and Monchi.
Steidten was linked to Liverpool earlier this year and said at the time “I’ve heard that I am supposed to be on the list at Liverpool. It is one of the biggest clubs in the world so it’s an honor. But so far no one from Liverpool has contacted me.” So far he has remained tight lipped regarding the reported interest from Arsenal.
Claret & Hugh will seek clarification from the club on this breaking story.

Who was to blame for not buying Duran? More so for buying Fullkrug instead. Duran showed us what he could do in first game of season & its been nearly dreadful ever since

Interesting to know over what issues Steidten has allegedly fallen out with Lopetegui and some of his back room staff. That would help form an opinion on him. To me there’s only the Fullkrug signing that’s an issue for being too old and injury prone.
It seems doubtful that Lopetegui was Steidten’s choice so thinking about how he might feel when watching Lopetegui’s range of starting lineups, playing players out of position etc, I can only think that he me be wildly annoyed. I know I would be.
Steitden hasn’t been backed by Sullivan as he hasn’t had full control of the budget to sign players. Another reason to be annoyed beyond what anyone should be when at work, he is a director not an office junior.
If he leaves we’ll find out if it’s our loss or not but I suspect it’ll be our loss. Not just because he probably is highly skilled at his job and be successful elsewhere but also because any good or better than good director of football will be reluctant to even consider taking up the role at West Ham while Sullivan remains. Why would anyone with a good reputation that’s in demand risk their reputation?

Is Guilherme a bad signing? Unless he’s played nobody can answer that. Most fans don’t Trust Lopetegui’s judgement so not playing isn’t a guide to whether Guilherme is good enough or not.

Steidten’s moniker being the Pearl Diver can’t be enhanced if young talent doesn’t get selected to play.
Bringing in Steidten should have been Sullivan being all in with the new plan and not carrying on sticking to the old plan of making it up as you go along which is no plan at all. You can’t have it both ways.

Very well said Andy, totally agree.

    • Matt says:

      Completely agree Andy 👏

Letting 🦖 managers pick players like Kalvin Phillips is more criminal IMO

Guilherme may well turn out to be a good signing but at a time when the whole squad needed a total overhaul, to make a hugely risky £25M investment on an 18 YO Brazilian only later to plead poverty at the end of the window when so much more was required just makes no sense?! It just seems to me that Steidten needed to bring someone back with him after spending so much time in Brazil chasing other targets (Bruno and Wesley both seemed to be higher on the initial priority list). I am all for us investing in youth but maybe not such high risk and when other parts of the squad are lacking. Don’t even get me started on Fullkrug!! In my eyes the only succes Steidten has had this far is Kudus. I like the new look defence but there’s no coincidence that it is largely proven at premier league level hence not requiring much in the way of scouting!

        Appointing 🇪🇸🤡 is the problem!

Tim is too progressive for you BFS and Moyes fans.

      • Andy Stone says:

It’s hard for me to understand the reason for Guilherme being the first signing, and then quite some time before the second signing. My take on that is Lopetegui being new wasn’t considered due to the process of scouting through to signing in most instances would be long. If you’ve drawn up a list and have made progress do you drop everything because the new coach is limited in his playing styles?
At the end of the day Steidten is having to work with Lopetegui who couldn’t get a tune out of Spotify, and work with Sullivan who seems to be playing FIFA Owner. How anyone can shine in that scenario is beyond me.

  • Hammeroo says:

Well if Tim Steidten goes to Arsenal, despite saying that it’s a 5 year plan at West Ham, and we lose Kudus to them as well then it’s the beginning of the end for our club as far as this season is concerned. How will Sullivan deal with the turmoil? It’s all becoming like a horror movie right there on my TV!

    • Matt says:

There will be protests in the stadium calling for Sully’s head soon if we stick with 🇪🇸🤡 and Tim is allowed to leave for an ambitious club that win things!

  • TommyD says:

Please…. Take him!! The Pearl Diver?! More like a Barnacle Scraper!!
Mavrapanos, Guilherme, Fullkrug, Soler, Rodriguez, Alvarez (at a cost of over £100million) and let’s not forget Lopetegui…

    • Jellied Eel says:

      Totally agree.

      • Matt says:

Why would Liverpool and Arsenal even be considering appointing Tim if he is as useless as you guys think? 🤷‍♂️

Do you even watch football on a colour TV!

    • S says:

Agree completely! They can have him.

      • Matt says:

Tim was responsible for Alonso joining Leverkusen and bought the players that delivered the Bundesliga #justsaying

Best player at West Ham since Payet is Kudus!

Seriously think you anti Tim boys are all sitting in some retirement village together 🤦‍♂️

      • Matt says:

Isn’t the nice lady about to come round with her trolley and give you your meds 💊 💊

    • Ted says:

      Totally agree let him go

    • Matt says:

And I thought JLo was a 🇪🇸🤡 Sounds like you are equally as foolish and have a complete lack of insight. Same for Jellied Eel and the rest of you old school Moyes fans that probably have failing eyesight and can’t see what it’s happening on and off the pitch 🤦‍♂️

  • What? says:

I’d love to know where this story comes from because it’s stated as a fact. So it must be true right?

    • Matt says:

Moyes isn’t the only one with mates in the media! Scapegoating propaganda is all it is. Most fans can smell 🐂 💩 a mile off!

The ones that can’t are too busy watching Last of the Summer Wine repeats

  • Phil Baker says:

After the summer transfer window everything looked so good for Westham , but getting the wrong new manager has destroyed the club . Will have to get used to the Championship again .

    • hippocampusmathclub says:

Calm down, we aren’t getting relegated mate!

      • Matt says:

Just because the bottom 3 are garbage, wasn’t the aim to push for Europe?

We don’t look like we will reach top 10!

    • Trevsheadwonthecup says:

Stop this defeatist ****e . No chance whatsoever of West ham getting relegated. Under an even semi competent manager.

    • Matt says:

      Tim is the right guy
      🇪🇸🤡 needs to go now!

    • Matt says:

I’m sure Tim would’ve had a list of potential managers that included Amorin.

🇪🇸🤡 would never be on that list!

Our 🇨🇿 shareholder appointed Tim. I just think it was Sully trying to flex his power hiring 🇪🇸🤡

On one side is Sully, Brady and 🇪🇸🤡

The other side is Tim and 🇨🇿

That’s why we are a mess as it’s not a club that is fully aligned
