Arsenal poised to steal Bacca

CarlosThe Telegraph has reported today that Carlos Bacca has become Wenger’s first choice target after missing out on Vardy and Higuain. Bacca appeared to rule out any prospect of joining West Ham earlier this week when he revealed his desire to play in the Champions League.

Bacca’s agents held talks with the Hammers earlier this week after they agreed a £26million  with AC Milan for the 29-year-old, but reports in Italy suggest the Gunners have made a late bid to snatch him from under the Irons noses.

RR LowLast season, the 29-year-old scored 18 goals in 38 leagues as Milan slumped to a seventh place finish. Bacca has boosted hopes of a move to the Gunners by stating his desire to play in the Champions League next season.  “It’s my dream to play in Champions League and work toward winning it,” he told Spanish paper AS.  “Unfortunately, the failure for Milan to reach the tournament is one of the themes of our discussions with the club.”

And Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claim Bacca would prefer a move to Arsenal ahead of West Ham, with the player himself admitting he had a number of transfer options to consider.

  1. ha ha got to laugh watch this bloke be a donkey for the gooners glad were not getting him

  2. The great escape,
Now can we actually talk to some real forwards who will score 20 goals a season,
Bony ,Remy,Barahino,Dehenney,Yedder, any 2 will do
Before Ipswich or Luton or another big side step in and take them,
    Spuds and Gooners nearly full

  3. Here’s hoping. don’t want him as he is using us to force the hand of Atletico Madrid.
    Let Arsenal have him.

  4. hopefully now we will get players in that play for the shirt not there bank balance. strikers with hunger in there boots ie Ben Yedder Berahino plus a donkey from East Stirling lol

  5. We should stop chasing so called top strikers who will never choose us over a club like Chelsea or Arsenal and see if we can find another gem like Payet who most likely could be had for a fraction of the cost, or let’s think outside the box, go after a quality right back and put Antonio upfront. Bet he could stuff away 15 or so a season
