Ashton feels for Irons fans

AshtonHammers hero Dean Ashton has sent a sad message to the fans with the team stripped of Dimi Payet for several months.

Payet learned today he will not – as expected – require an operation on he ankle injury sustained courtesy of James McCarthy’s challenge in the game against Everton.

Deano – having been forced to retire at just 26 after  after failing to recover from a long-term ankle injury sustained during international duty with England.

And the 31 year old is very unhappy for Payet who will be sidelined for three months at the same time as Enner Valencia again finds himself from  sidelined.

In a heartfelt tweet he declared: “Big blow for out for 3mths Feel for fans Another player to get excited about gets injured!! Got a better squad to cope though!”
