At last a pundit with Irons interests at heart

|

Danny-Murphy-GOS_2939787There wasn’t a great deal of it but it was pleasing to get a positive MOTD reaction from the studio pundits following the match.

The match recording confirmed the feelings of most of us during real time – that in the end a draw was probably a fair result on the balance of play.

Danny Murphy and Alan Shearer both seemed pleased with the football on display and the former Fulham man – during a very brief summary – said: “I’m really pleased for West Ham that they are continuing to pick up points during all their injury problems.”

And Shearer added: “It was a good game from two good sides.”

After all the perceived knocking from a certain BBC pundit it was good to see that at least one has our best interests at heart.

Thanks Danny.

Shearer and murphy probably the best two pundits on MOTD.Rather those two than lawrenson, savage and keown.

Don’t always go by stats that can be so misleading.

I was at the game yesterday and yes we did have more of the game than stoke but they had the better clear cut chances than us especially when diouf was put through late on and adrian made a great save with his legs.

I have to say how i saw it and i did think a draw was a fair result

it’s been many a year since I truly cared how MOTD covered us. their “big team” bias has always been evident & as an Iron it’s rarely a fair summary of the game. who knows, with the new-found managerial honesty from Slav, Klopp & Howes – maybe, just maybe the beeb will employ some rational pundits in the future. Lawrenson & Co are mostly dinosaurs and not worth our attention once their mouths open.

It makes a change for some sensible comment from the BBC pundits – it was strange that they didn’t show Valencia’s free kick at the end – another mystery!

I always think that if a team scores the same number of goals as the other team then a draw is a fair result, but the stats show that we had nearly twice the chances that they had and three times as many on target. MOTD certainly avoided showing any thing like that. In fact they showed that Stoke were on top until we tried to nick it in the end, so same old story.
On the other hand, the pundits did have a kind word or two for us so I suppose we should be grateful for what ever we get.
