At last! Irons striker punts pay off big time

|

Sakho celebratesIt’s been a very long time coming but at last our luck on the striker front has changed …and no club deserves it more!

After the likes of Modibo Maiga and the constantly injured Andy Carroll, who would have believed that a player from a League Two French club – signed EVENTUALLY on a long term deal – would become the early season hero.

Personally I loved the bloke from the moment I saw him – full of running, determined to make an impact, the happy knack of being in the right place at the right time and clearly very very happy to be here .

Diafra Sakho we love you mate and HOW you came to join us isn’t really an issue but err “Well done David Sullivan.!”

Oh dear I can here the keyboards rattling already as the forum boys get ready to dub me “company man!”

Enner Valencia too looked a punt at £12 million according to some who had him  marked him down as an expensive Maiga after one game!

His set piece goal and ability to make a right nuisance of himself over 90 minutes has been a joy to behold.

These two signings along with Cheikhou Kouyate have been extraordinary and then along came Alex Song. An amazing set of deals.

Add Morgan Amaltifano, Aaron Darren Creswell, Mauro Zarate, Diego Poyet and loanee Carl Jenkinson and we see just how successful the new signing policy between board and manager  has been.

Back in the summer it was all about the boss being under pressure – if this is pressure I’m sure he’s quite happy to see it brought on.

Tomorrow night we have the prospect of England playing San Marino in front of us but you know what, the Irons start has made even that bearable.

To be able to sit composing this piece is a real pleasure simply because I didn’t see this coming in a million years.

A hearty congratulations to everyone who made this brilliant start happen.

    Hello Hugh
Take it easy mate…..all is far beyond our expectations so as you say lets enjoy the moment……I sincerely hope Sam is enjoying and probably can’t believe his luck…I trust he won’t break up what seems to be happening and accommodate KN and AC at this stage
(and the style of play). Hopefully managing West Ham is finally sinking in!

I’m over for the Villa game from Australia….I had 18 years season ticket after the Taylor report and ten years or more on terraces before that.

WHU results still dictate my mood.
Great hearing Bubbles in the Melbourne Sports Bar
    COYI
