Away fans turn on team after worst performance in decades | West Ham News

YOU have to feel sorry for the thousands of West Ham fans who made the trip to Molineux this afternoon in the freezing cold to sit and endure what looked, on first impression, to be the worst West Ham performance in decades. At least there seemed the hope of a glimpse of West Ham’s latest signing – rushed through by the board surely to have him registered and able to take part today.

West Ham’s head coach appears to have become a manager without a clue or a plan: Watching helplessly as his team ran the white flag up the pole inside half an hour. No plan to put pressure on his opponents. Pointless substitutions without reason and  leaving Callum Wilson to play the whole 90 -minutes plus when for the first time there’s a replacement ready to go sitting on the bench – it doesn’t make sense.

Espirito Santo takes the Irons to new lows – below even the ineptitude of both Potter and Lopetegui. But worse, now, the players don’t care any more.

Evidently it was all too much for the away fans, according to the video now doing the rounds which has a host of expletives before an emotionally-charged ‘you’re not fit to wear the shirt chorus aimed at the hapless Hammers ambling over towards their own supporters’ end in a humiliating moment. Briefly, it seemed there was a reality-touchdown for the embarrassed looking players before – they all went back, no doubt,  to their nicely cocooned lives and their handsome pay cheques.

The Sun.co.uk picked up perfectly the West Ham fans’ mood:“Furious West Ham fans demand ‘sack Nuno at half-time’ as they go into break 3-0 down to Premier League’s worst team”.

Every one of those fans was entitled to their anger. At least they cared, unlike the players or the manager. Likely they’ll all be gone before the Championship kicks off in August. If Nuno has professional pride, he’ll walk away tonight after producing such a spineless performance in a ‘must win’ tie that , seriously, the Hammers would not have fared worse if they’d sent out the u21 side.

Anybody want my ticket for the ‘Forest game?

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

I’ve been saying since the season started and we had such an old, slow squad. Play the youngsters and let them earn the shirt! 100% we would be in a way better position than now PLUS we’d have 6-7 players with Premier league experience.
I think this is a masterstroke from Notts Forest owners. Send us the worst defender in the league aka Kilman, THEN sack the coach and have him take the managers job with us and have him destroy the club from the inside. It’s brilliant!!!
The players would be better off without a manager SACK NUNO IMMEDIATELY

  • Jimbo says:

Let’s not forget these players are nearly all internationals. Sure, might be poorly coached, but jeez, they are all rubbish in a claret and blue shirt. Even Bowen looks like he has lost pace. Any of them who keep this weeks pay cheque should hang their heads in shame. I’m in for soo much stick come Monday because of this bunch of pennywise mimics.

  • Sue says:

They have every right to be angry and turn on the team
I thought we were in with a chance, but after today I am not so sure. Every outfield player has lost the fight
On this display we are doomed
Every result went ou way today and we could not perform
We can not rely on other results, but that is how it is going to be and to think our last game is against Leeds

  • Ray says:

Wolves are not the worst team in the Premier League, they proved it again today.

There was a plus point for me.
I was considering, living a travellable distance away, buying tickets for the family to attend the game. At a total price of virtually £400, excluding travel etc, I decided against.
Spent the afternoon pollarding trees and listening to the FIRST half on 5 live. Using a chainsaw in the rage I was reduced to is not conducive to retaining digits or worse, so I wisely gave the second half a swerve, the outcome couldn’t have been more obvious.
The best £400 I’ve not spent in a good while, but kudos to the travelling faithful who saw that through to the end in subzero temperatures. The club are truly not worthy of your support.

  • Ray Martin says:

Are we the only club ever to keep replacing terrible managers with even worse ones? Didn’t want NES in the first place as I didn’t think our squad suited his style. I have refrained from posting for weeks as I am so fed up with the shambles of a club we’ve become, but enough is enough. How does he keep Kilman in our side? That is one of life’s great mysteries. I think most fans would agree Bowen is not captain material. We need defenders so badly, a centre back who’s skipper worthy should have been a priority. Unless we sign a number of players I can’t see us surviving. We had a chance to push on after winning silverware, attract good players and a good manager but our board f****d that up. By not paying for a manager, it’s ended up costing more in compensation to the rubbish they have to get rid of, than if they had paid for a decent manager in the first place. In short I think we’re doomed unfortunately. Until Sully is gone we don’t stand a chance. Gutted!

    • Kenny Irons says:

Spot on Ray, and apparently we’re interested in Carrick and Bilic, another couple of losers – obviously Sullivan choices as you say, the man is a clueless p***k !

  • Phil Baker says:

It’s clear to see that there’s insufficient coaching of all the details required for a group of players to become a coherent team . In the modern era of football a coach can’t do everything himself and succeed . Westham’s owners dnn’t comprehend this fact and consequently are guaranteed to fail . We’ve all seen this coming for years and now Westham are going to be crushed by multiple relegations .

  • loxthehammer says:

Well if the knives are out for Nuno, then it looks like Slaven or Carrick will be the two favourites .. personally it’s clear that something needs to change. It appears that we don’t have the fighting mentality for a relegation battle like the other teams around us, and we need to find that fast… like by Tuesday!

  • John simmonds says:

    I’ll have your ticket.
We’re out of bog roll at chez Simmonds

  • Rob. G says:

The whole team seemed to be utterly clueless and Kilman was absolutely shocking.

Before the game I was quietly confident that we would survive relegation. Now, I’m not so sure.

  • John Ayris says:

The worst thing of all is that they didn’t look arsed.

    It was gutless.

The travelling support said it as it is.
