West Ham’s new signings Andrew Ayew and Arthur Masuaku have cost the club aproaching £100k a week in wages.
Ayew has done a deal which sees him on just over £70k a week plus the club’s normal bonuses whilst the former Olympiacos defender agreed a contract at around £25k a week.
The pair take the new signings tally to six and their arrival probably marks the conclusion of the club’s summer spending spree.
Ayew was seen as a key signing by manager Slaven Bilic and the club were happy to pay his terms after cooling on Carlos Bacca.
A Hammers insider told ClaretandHugh: “You can never say 100 per cent ‘that’s the end of the buying’ because a bargain may become available but the club believe that is an end to the major spending.”
Okay…
Havard Nordtveit – free
Sofiane Feghouli – free
Toni Martinez – £2.5m
Ashley Fletcher – free
Manual Lanzini – £9.4m
Gokhan Töre – £5m loan.
Andre Ayew – £20.5m
Arthur Masuaku – £6.2m
Domingos Quina – free
That’s £43.6m on players…..
Plus take off £10m from the sale of Tomkins.
£33.6m… In all fairness.. We have shelled out on players, and it’s not just transfer fee we need to be looking at… Wages will be high for some of those players.
I think if we do add Calleri.. We have done really well this summer :).
Just read that we’ve just had a fresh 42 mil bid for lacazette rejected and made a bid of 6.8 mil for ghezzal at Lyon and are battling Everton for him. Any susbstance in either of these stories?
Yes salesb that is correct and has been confirmed by both club presidents
Or should I say the club president Aulas as they are both from Lyon I think.
That’s right you never know when a bargain is going to come along for 40 odd million.
Why do we need Ghezzal, he’s another winger.
We already have 6 (Lanzini, Antonio, Feghouli, Töre, Payet and Ayew if needs be)
Lacazette… Pointless trying to get a player who wants champions league, it’s the same situation as Bacca… We could offer £50m not €50m and he still wouldn’t come.
