Ayew looks set for ‘problem’ position

|

andre-ayew-west-ham_3766957Andre Ayew and Manu Lanzini look set to play right and left midfield when the Irons go chasing their first away win of the season at Watford this week.

With Andy Carroll employed through the middle, any aerial service looks set to come from Pablo Zabaleta and Aaron Creswell with Ayew and Lanzini on the flanks but with licence to cut inside of course.

The absence of Michail Antonio is making team selection difficult and young Nathan Holland’s ruptured hamstring injury means that manager David Moyes has had to look at a different system to used previously this season.

There was a genuine feeling inside the camp that Holland’s time had come and the injury is a massive disappointment.

Winston Reid remains a doubt with much depending on whether he is considered fit and injury free after racing back from New Zealand’s World Cup play off match.

Possible line-up: Hart, Zaba, Reid, Rice, Cresswell; Noble, Kouyate, Obiang, Lanzini, Ayew, Carroll.

I think Sahko should play & maybe play him up w Ayew if can tho I have a feeling AC will start.
Sahko is our most rounded CF don’t like his antics but if its a clean slate & he just wants to play he I’d give him the chance EPs if can turn around attitude if getting played.
On form without Chicharito is has scored more just coming off bench then AC & for Senegal. So right now his confidence is good & is scoring.
I’d like to see him start & Toni on bench.
Could play AC & Sahko up front together but I dunno for me Ayew as looked so good in secondary striker position

I was just reading Zabaletta’s article on the official site, he says as a team they need to improve in every area, they need to be better defensively, better offensively and create more chances, its up to the players to step up, he said training’s been good and well received so far although I suspect he thinks it could still improve further but then he has worked under Guardiola, Pellegrini and Mancini in recent years so I guess he has a pretty high benchmark, an improvement is good lets get the players fit and working as a unit first, have got my ticket for the Leicester game and excited to see how we perform, hopefully this Friday match will be an improvement on the last COYI !!!

On the line up, I think it will be Hart, Masuaku, Ogbonna, Rice, Zaba, Obiang, Noble, Ayew, Lanzini, Sakho and Carroll. I think Adrian, Kouyate, Arnie, Martinez, Cressie, Reid and a coupe of the kids will be on the bench. Sakho as a forward offers much more than any of the others if he is willing to work, if he hasn’t been willing too then no question he won’t be anywhere near the starting line up and his place will be taken by Kouyate.

Kouyate ? Sakho should start ! Period ! On form no body is near him in the senior side ,
Is he and kouyate back yet ? ☺

I agree Sakho should start but only if he is willing to put the effort in, there is no space for passengers, I hope after talking to him Moyes is able to get the best out of Sakho and we see the striker that loved playing for us, it has been a long while, I would be willing to forget all the baggage if he gets his head down and shows us he wants to play his part.

😂32 the whole team have done a good impression of passengers lol! Its resembled a que at a bus stop waiting for the late night bus, never seen sakho show no effort ? He’s the only one working his nuts off and getting his head down ! Let’s not forget sully created the friction with sakho with one of his rent a gob comments ! The Rennes bull💩 wasn’t his making , he had permission to go but the club hung him out to dry , possibly to create friction among us to move him on in Jan , hence his behind the scenes contract improvement ? Bump his price up maybe?? The mob running our club are not straight up people 32 they’re delboys with money and don’t give a toss about personnel or you and me ? Its all about legacy and brand ?

It’ll be a shame to have Lanzini stuck out on the side – he has much more impact on a game playing centrally and drifting to either flank depending on where he can be of most help.
