West Ham United have emerged as frontrunners to sign Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to reports.

With Ben Johnson leaving for Ipswich Town earlier this summer, West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui is in need of reinforcements at right-back. Currently, Vladimir Coufal is the only natural option in that position.

That much was clear from yesterdays pre-season friendly where Gideon Kodua was forced to play out of position in Coufal’s absence.

The 26-year-old Wan-Bissaka, a London native, is reportedly keen on a return to the capital. His defensive prowess, particularly his tackling ability and pace, would be a significant upgrade on Coufal. West Ham fans are already excited about the prospect, considering it a major improvement for the team.

The most surprising aspect of this transfer news is the reported price tag. TEAMtalk claims West Ham could land Wan-Bissaka for just £17-20 million. This would be a steal in today’s market for a player of his calibre.

If the reported asking price is accurate, West Ham should waste no time in securing Wan-Bissaka’s signature. This move would significantly bolster Lopetegui’s defensive options for the upcoming season.

The potential arrival of Wan-Bissaka would be a major coup for West Ham. He would provide much-needed competition at right-back and could form a strong partnership with Jarrod Bowen down the Hammers’ right flank.

Go get him Mr Steidten!

for what it’s worth I suggest in 2 years he will be 28. and in his. prime .
    especially as a defender .

How. do you calculate that ?

Same as Walker Peters he has only a year left on his contract. I’m not surprised at £17M, next window he’s worth not much and the window after nothing at all.

Wan Bissaka would be an upgrade on Ward-Peters. I liked him when he was a youngster at Crystal Palace and hope West Ham sign him.
