Back to the future move on cards for Iron

By Dave Langton

Brentford look the most likely club to sign  Said Benrahma should David Moyes decide to entertain  offers this summer.

The manager has been reported both here and in The Guardian that he  sees him as a possible departure should he bring in the midfielder/s he really wants.

It would be a back to the future move for the player who arrived at the Hammers in 2020 for a £5 million loan fee before we eventually paid £30m to secure him on a permanent basis.

But he  has struggled for form throughout his time with the Irons and there is an expectation at West Ham that  the Bees could enter the market  particularly if they fail to sign Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen joined the club in January but has been forthright about his desire to play in the Champions League, and there is interest from Spurs in resigning him this summer.

If the Denmark international does move on, Brentford will need to sign a new playmaker and Benrahma was exceptional during his time with the club.

The 26-year-old scored 30 goals and laid on 27 assists in 94 games for Brentford before moving to the Irons.

  1. Absolutely crazy if he leaves.
    3rd highest scorer.
Moyes must 4 midfielders coming in if Vlasic and Benrhama leave.
    Ridiculous
