Balbuena proves a danger man

Fabian Balbuena may be one of the most under-rated players in the West Ham team but a new look at penalty area danger men show him to be right up there.

Few will forget his outstanding chance of a headed equaliser against Brighton in the last league game but despite that it seems the Parauayan defender is among the most threatening PL defenders in the box.

A survey from Mirror Sport shows that he is behind just Everton’s Michael Keane,  Chelsea’s pair Antonio Rudiger, and Marco Alonso and Watford’s Christian Kasabele as a major threat from the back.

The Mirror analysed their menace levels and found Balbuena had had seven shots inside the box and six headed efforts although as yet no goals.

At fifth on the list he was followed by Cardiff’s Sol Bamba and Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake.

  1. He scored many goals from set plays in Brazil, he probably had a better supply and not so good marking, hopefully he will get some for us 🙂
