Barca Star Rejects Hammers Transfer

Ferran Torres is the latest name to be linked with a move to West Ham United in a silly season of transfer rumours that has gone winger crazy.

According to the Spanish media, the Hammers have entered the race to sign the former Manchester City attacker from his current club, Barcelona. Considering West Ham’s clear need for a striker and at least two central defenders, we seem to be disproportionately linked with wingers in the gossip columns.

Barcelona are in desperate need of fresh funds to reinvest in reinforcements for new boss Hansi Flick’s squad, with Torres being rumoured as a potential sacrifice.

The 24-year-old is undoubtedly a talented player, but the suggestion that new West Ham United boss Julen Lopetegui is eager to bring his fellow countryman to England this summer is probably premature.

Reports suggest the player has absolutely no intention of changing clubs this summer and is unimpressed with Barca’s attempts to offload him elsewhere.

Torres would not come cheap either, with his wages believed to be in excess of £100k per week. Therefore, the chances of a current Spanish international taking a pay cut to move from Barcelona to a club with no European football are somewhat fanciful.

Our transfer vuusinees has been concluded guilerme and ditheringham gk on a free transfer mark my wotds there will be no further signings as our board have no ambition, any world class players won’t join us because we have no defence and no striker, plus we can’t afford them and sullivan won’t pay the wages or spend big. So any rumours about big name signings are pure fantasy.
