Barcelona eyeing shock Hammers move – Report

|

Barcelona are eyeing up a move for Pablo Fornals, according to a new report in Spain.

The Hammers star is seen as a potential alternative to Bernardo Silva, who is staying at Manchester City.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Catalan giants are eyeing a swoop to sign the Spanish international in this transfer window ahead of the deadline.

The report claims that he could cost up to €35m (£29.8m), which would represent a profit for the Irons.

Barcelona are essentially skint, but they have been able to register the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, and Raphinha as new signings this summer.

Fornals has a contract until 2024 and he has started all four of the Irons’ games this season, scoring the only goal in the 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, with his long-range effort taking a deflection and looping over Emiliano Martinez in the Villa Park net.

Barcelona would be an attractive destination for Fornals, but one has to wonder whether they can afford it.

Please Please Please sell him. He has been terrible all last season and this season so far. He can’t pass, can’t control the ball, can’t head and looks like a sheep amongst wolves. Please god, let this be true. I’m sick of watching him somehow give the other team possession when he has the ball. And then Soucek off to Real Madrid and Johnson to PSG please. I can’t take much more of these 3 players under performing week in week out but undroppable by moyes, Please be true

I think if they bid decent money we should sell. Pablo is a really likeable hard grafter but his offensive quality is often lacking, as is Soucek in fact I feel this is our real issue when playing two DCM that we need real quality going forward, a team of predominant grafters, i.e. Soucek, Fornals, Antonio will not break through up front.
