Barcelona open to Free Transfer fo Song

|

songAccording to Matt Law in the Daily Telegraph West Ham are edging towards agreeing a deal with Barcelona to sign Alex Song on a permanent deal.

Barcelona originally demanded £5m  from West Ham but the Telegraph say they understand the Spanish club are now open to the idea of allowing the midfielder to leave on a free transfer. West Ham are prepared to match his £70,000-a-week wages, but are haggling over performance-related bonuses Barcelona want included in the deal.

On Thursday, Song posted a picture on Instagram of himself outside West Ham’s Chadwell Heath training ground, where the Telegraph say he was receiving treatment on an injury.

Jack Sullivan’s cryptic tweet earlier suggested more than one player was undergoing medical and speculation suggests medicals will carried out on both Dimitri Payet and Alex Song.

I really don’t understand this, going from £5M to nothing. Do we cover costs Barca would’ve had to meet or has their time with UNICEF made them very charitable lol

if Song is currently receiving treatment for an injury, how on earth can he pass a proper medical?

Ahah… maybe Song for free it’s too expensive… If this news is true what are we waiting for? Ok I know, Song has to say ” I don’t even want my salary”… lol

A cunning new plan Matte they all pay to play, the Daves will love it lol
I bet it would still be criticised in certain parts lol

Hmm but by the time Hearn,Sheffield Utd and whoever else thinks we owe them a living gets their share we’d have nothing left, ahh well back to the drawing board lol

Good business either way. Need quality “homegrown” on the squad.

barca need him off their wage bill, we need him and he wants to be here, I think the Daves have played a blinder with this if it comes off. £5m was a nominal fee to them but a big chunk out of our war chest and so by playing it cool barca realised it would be financially beneficial to let him go for free than have him paid to not play for another season. He is a big fish in a little pond for us and loves London. No brainer all round. Welcome home. (if it’s true)
