Joey Barton’s at it again – having a right old moan-up about being treated like killer Fred West and 60s sect leader and mass killer Charlie Manson (below).
It’s alldriven by West Ham’s decision to give him the elbow from a possible pay as you play contract following criticism from the fans – and reportedly senior players. Bit of a stretch to involve old Fred and mad Charlie!
Barton really needs to take a few lessons in self definition because all he shows by these absurd and self obsessed outbursts is that those who decided against giving him the gig at our place were 100 per cent right.
Barton is quoted as saying in a Telegraph story: “From time to time, people think it’s Charles Manson (pictured below) or Fred West that is going to come into the building, but that’s the ridiculous legacy I have, which is baffling.”

In an obvious reference to the Irons he adds: “I think if you’re a Premier League club, anyone from 10th downwards, and you had the opportunity to take me on a free transfer it’s an absolute no-brainer.
But they are lazy, they don’t do their homework so they tune into things you did in 2006, 2007, rather than look at what’s going on, what you’ve done in the last three years, how your family circumstances have changed.
He then adds that West Ham’s loss is Burnley’s gain totally failing to understand that his words show him to have a head size which would have immediately caused problems in our dressing room – nobody likes a smart arse.
As for the stuff about changing and maturing, well he would say that wouldn’t he? But his attack on the Irons and his Manson/West fantasies simply show us it’s the same old Barton.

Watching the England Switzerland game. Two players that could have done the Barton role in our team. Jonjo shelvey of Swansea now playing for England or valon behrami playing for Switzerland now at Watford.
