Batshuayi setback as Lukaku rejects Chelsea

Chelsea-striker-Michy-Batshuayi-614216The chances of West Ham signing or loaning Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea took a setback today as Romelu Lukaku has reportedly rejected a return to Chelsea.

According to breaking news this morning Manchester United have agreed a fee of around £75m with Everton for striker  Lukaku and they hope to complete the transfer by Sunday so he can join them on a Pres-season tour of the US. The 24-year-old Belgium international scored 25 Premier League goals last season.

The striker was sold to Everton for £28m by Mourinho during the Portuguese manager’s second spell in charge of Chelsea in 2014.

  1. I thought he was nailed on to go back to Chelski.Maybe Conte doesnt want him, aint like they cant afford him is it 😃

    • haha yeah it did amuse me that Chelski weren’t willing to pay the exorbitant fee for him, I am hoping it is a sign that Abramovitch is becoming bored with Chelsea like he has done with all his other sports teams after a while.

  2. I don’t think it really matters whether they have the money or if they want him – the guy ultimately gets to make up his own mind and obviously favours United. He must have his reasons, but would love to know why he wants to go play for a manager who felt he was surplus to requirements at Chelsea. Maybe it’s down to him being settled up there so wants to stay local?

  3. That’s it I’m never going again, the board are crap, we should have bought him last year, there’s no money, the popcorn’s rubbish, the big screen is to small, no one will renew there season ticket, Andy will save us, it’s all Slav’s fault!!!! Oops sorry everyone posted on the wrong site 😀😀

    • Ha right who cards of a screen size with Bayern. Sign players. Don’t worry about who has bigger screen.

    • Call a meeting GW , enough is enough 🙂 🙂

      • Anyone else remember the days when forums were just a bit of a laugh and a bit of banter? Nowadays it’s like posting on a dignitas forum 😀😀 Bring back the Rabid Dogs at least we had a laugh and didn’t take everything so bloody seriously 😆

        • Yes forums have taken a turn for the worse….i think many fans gave up on them…tired of reading the same negative fans trotting out the same mind numbing posts..

        • Yeah it was usually a good laugh with Bubs and Matte and others of course, whilst I don’t blame the board for any lost signings, they have so far overpromised which hasn’t helped the general fans perception or mine anyway and I consider myself an average fan neither optimistic or pessimistic, imho we had every chance of finishing top 4 in the last two seasons but we didn’t invest in the highest quality, the team were not at the requisite fitness level and we took a step backwards last season, we have a few very good players and Lanzini who is better than that, it is top quality we need and hopefully our strikers to stay fit (presuming we don’t get the highest quality in this window), I am not fussed by what has happened so far it was fairly predictable bearing in mind our distinctly average performance last year and the negative media coverage we suffered.

  4. We did bid for him last year but he chose Chelsea and then we ended up with Zaza so how that worked.
But don’t think it matters bc Lukaku was never really Contes first choice they will most likely get Morata now and Llorente as been Linked too but Chelsea fans think he is a waste. But he is a great 2nd option for them. Great in set pieces and good with feet for a big lad. I would have him here in a second with the right service he is a 20 goal striker.
I really don’t see Michy coming here anyway especially if its a sell bc they will want £35m or so and the board won’t spend that. He has a lot of suitors as well. In would love to be wrong and have him here tho. It is strange that Conte doesn’t rate him. But think we should go doe Christensen to he will possibly be up for sale with Inter opening the door

  5. 32 if you think we should have been top 4 for the last 2 seasons I reckon your the most optimistic Hammers fan I’ve ever read. COYI X
