Very real fears are being voiced about West Ham’s talismanic skipper Jarrod Bowen as the club head into the most important ten weeks in their recent history.

Whilst opinions seemed to suggest Bowen was just cream crackered after almost six years of non stop running in never ending commitment to the Hammers cause, one West Ham site believes they have a take on a more sinister factor:

Bowen has been battered black and blue and is more than likely carrying injury upon injury.

The claim comes from fan site Green Street

“At this point in the season, everyone is in the training room experiencing something,” [they report a team source with knowledge of West Ham’s medical staff has told them].

“He’s no different. Someone like [Bowen] potentially has knocks all over his body. It’s a choice some players make.

Some of them admit that one knock is more severe than others. Some of them know if they give something too much attention it may affect playing time.

And he never asks off the pitch. He wouldn’t compromise himself so that decision would be made for him either.”

For now, West Ham fans will look on worried about Bowen’s fitness and at the same Tim hoping against hope that the war-weary skipper can keep on keeping on pulling on the boots and giving all to the West Ham cause:

As Gonzo wrote yesterday behind the scenes there must be a hope that he is excluded from the England squad so that he gets a break from the endless toll of training and competitive football that is -at the moment – reducing his form to that of a mere mortal.

Selfish, admittedly – for Bowen must harbour ambition to make it into England’s world cup squad, which he surely deserves.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Simply tell the FA he has sustained a ‘strain’.
Most other clubs do it, especially for pointless matches.

We must have covered this story four times now. He is either injured or tired. Don’t expect the club to admit to either though it would play into the hands of our rivals
