BBC journo: Hammers set to be busy

|

West Ham are set for a busy few weeks in the transfer window, according to BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone.

The Hammers have already completed the signing of Nayef Aguerd from Rennes to strengthen David Moyes’ defence.

Alphonse Areola is likely to complete his permanent move to the club this week, too; we have reported that the deal is “95% done” as per a source.

And Stone now claims that things are about to heat up as Moyes aims to bring in further reinforcements.

Stone did make mention of an offer being tabled for Jesse Lingard; as we understand it, the club have been in talks with his representatives, although an offer had not been made as of Sunday.

He wrote: Sounds like it is going to be a busy few weeks for West Ham. Non-internationals flying to Scotland this morning for training camp at St Andrews. Alphonse Areola deal will go through today or tomorrow. Jesse Lingard offer in and club waiting for response. David Moyes keen to push on.”

Moyes is also currently making his mind up over a potential swoop for Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma, who can play up front or on either wing.

He would also like to sign at least one new midfielder as well as potentially recruiting a new full-back.
