Ben Johnson Transfer Latest

Ipswich Town have reportedly moved ahead of Leeds United in the race to sign West Ham Ben Johnson on a free transfer. It had previously been suggested that new Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui had given the green light for Johnson to be offered a new contract.

The versatile Hammers defender has been in negotiations to renegotiate a new deal at The London Stadium with his current contract due to expire. If no deal can be agreed, West Ham face the unenviable task of having to replace yet another player during an already busy transfer period.

Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna is understood to be a fan of the versatile full back and is looking to strengthen following the Tractor Boys promotion to The Premier League. With Johnson able to sign without the need for a transfer fee, the deal is an easy way to sign a proven top level player without risking the rath of FFP and profit and sustainability regulations.

There has however been a significant change since Hugh- it appears these new writers are more tech savvy and Click savvy. That said its not what most of us want. Not interested in re hashed news from Newsnowwestham.com.
We liked this site because it was easy to read, not many clicks, honest “new” stories and behind the scenes facts.
Clearly now more of a money making web site.
Yes I can leave and too be honest I sort have done that- lets get back to a site for fans not revenue

That’s a bit rough Dave. If you don’t like the website then don’t come on here, simple. But leave off with the abuse and swearing. The site could have passed away with Hugh but the lads stepped in to keep it going and in case you hadn’t noticed more new writers are also providing articles now. Hugh was a seasoned pro, give the news lads a chance.

Cheers CT, were trying to get some sort of balance right and trying to navigate a very difficulty situation since Hughie past away.
We’re trying to introduce some more opinion and have asked for new writers but it’s not easy.

Very reasonable of you mate and I appreciate the comments.

Unless 20% of the 25 are chosen from the junior teams, WH will not meet the residence requirements (if all the rumours are even half right). Perhaps a smaller squad is the answer? Oh.

Now that the Mexican is out of action, perhaps Downes should stay?

Not worth the money he was demanding for a new contract. Not good enough to force his way into the team above Coufal. Not wanting to stay and fight for a place because he knows it too. Ipswich is about his level. Good luck to him.

Good Luck Ben, Ipswich are a great club, and we will welcome you back.
