Benitez prices himself out of future West Ham move

Rafa Benetiz is likely to price himself out of a move back to the Premier League from China Claret and Hugh has learned this afternoon.

The former Liverpool and Newcastle manager has a £15m buy out clause on his current contract with Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang and would want at least £8m per year on a three year contract to move back to the U.K.

With Steve Bruce currently achieving results better than Benetiz in charge of Newcastle United questions need to be asked whether the Spaniard would be an upgrade on Manuel Pellegrini if the West Ham manager position were to become available in the future.

With an investment of a £39m to land the 59-year-old West Ham is likely to look elsewhere should a replacement be required.

Benitez is covering the West Ham v Arsenal game tonight as a guest Sky Sports presenter but he will not be stepping a foot into the London Stadium tonight and instead will remain 17 miles away at the Sky Sports studios in Isleworth.

  1. Why are we just hearing the managers that you think won’t come or how much money we have to pay to get them.it’s just bad news every day….I really couldn’t care less at this stage because anyone is better than the drip we have at the moment

  2. After 55 year’s supporting the mighty hammers I’m not proud to say I walked out with still 10 minutes to play, looking like work had been done on the training ground the first half saw a better team performance 1-0 up and looking good the halftime coffee went down well. What came next was just the opposite, a total lack of commitment slow to close down. And time to leave .
