Said Benrahma is very good at digging holes for himself and may well have managed to pull off his regular self inflicted problem again!

And he had better hope that he does enough at his loan club Lyon not to be sent back to West Ham at the end of the season should the Ligue One fail to take up a €13 million option.

He managed to fall out with Moyes early in his Hammers career – forget the game – when he was taken off and managed to utter three word “Why always me.”

With his increasingly poor performances and falling out with the Algeria team boss he was binned from the national team for Afcon.

And then he managed to get himself sent off and suspended for three games when the hammers were being hit by player absences.

It was no ordinary sending off either but as a result of kicking out at a player who had brought him to earth with a challenge.

Thankfully- and I really mean that – the authorities  managed to allow us to push a deal through for him to go on loan to France after the deadline had passed.

No sooner has he arrived it seems than he has decided to take a sideway swipe at Moyes and the club declaring: “The infrastructure is magnificent here. There are not many clubs that have such facilities, there is everything to work well.

Training went very well, we worked hard, but we worked in a very good mood and in a good atmosphere. It’s been a long time since I trained with the intensity of training at OL. It’s impressive, and I can’t wait to play on the field.”
