Benrahma misses out in Africa

|

Hammer Said Benrahma missed out last at the Stade 7 Novembre de Rades in Tunis when he was an unused substitute for Algeria in an international friendly.

The 25-year-old was named in the matchday squad but had to sit out the game on the bench in north Africa.

Alergia won the game against Tunisia 2-0 despite going down to ten men.

The Algerian team did feature one former Hammer in the guise of  Sofiane Feghouli who played all ninety minutes on Friday night.

Feghouli joined the Hammers in 2016 under Slaven Bilic on a three-year contract from Valencia on a free transfer playing twenty appearances while scoring three goals before leaving a year later for Galatasaray for £3.83m on a five-year deal.

Benrahma has featured in four international friendlies for Alegeeria within the last year but has yet to force his way as a regular starter for his native national side.

He made his debut for Algeria back in 2015.
