Betway Cup will not sell out

The return of supporters on mass to the London Stadium will not be a 60,000 capacity sell out this weekend!

The tickets are now on general sale but many thousands of tickets remain available online when choosing seats.

This morning the club continues to push ticket sales with but just five days remaining it is obvious it will not be a capacity crowd for the Betway Cup clash with the Italian side Atalanta on Saturday 7 August at 3 pm.

Adult tickets start at £15 with kids priced at £5 with hospitality can be purchased as cheap as £49

David Moyes’ squad will seek to complete an unbeaten pre-season in their final test before the 2021/22 Premier League season begins at Newcastle United the following weekend.

The manager will welcome back Declan Rice, Andriy Yarmolenko, Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal after their successful UEFA Euro 2020 exploits, while new loan signing Alphonse Areola is expected to feature for the first time this weekend.

The last time West Ham had a capacity crowd at the London Stadium was 29th February 2020. Official attendance that day was recorded as 59,962.

2,000  supporters attended on Saturday 5th December 2020 with another 9,000 attending the West Ham v Southampton on 23 May for the last home game of last season.

  1. I normally only do pre season matches to see new signings bar a loan keeper our illustrious owners have failed to deliver.

    • Very valid point. I think that there is a feeling in much of the fan base that West Ham are in danger of not building on the success of last season and that they will be seeing be the same starting XI, minus Lingard and with no Pereira.

  2. Lack of clarity over admission details playing a pert possibly…

  3. I think it’s a lot to do with every individual ticket holder needing a client ID on the Ticketmaster portal. I had to get one for my 7 year old niece just to take her to what might be her only ever West Ham game!
