The remaining season ticket holders in block 114 in the lower West Stand next to the away supporters were under close surveillance again during yesterday’s defeat against Arsenal.
At least two people wearing grey wool hats spent the whole match taking video and close up still photos of supporters in the West Ham home troubled section. The people wore no security or media hi visibility vests or jackets usually wore by individuals working pitch side to identify their purpose.
Hammers fans in that block turned the tables on these covert operatives by deciding to film the filmers at the final whistle but stewards quickly moved in to stop any fan filming of the operation and demanded they stop filming.
Many supporters have asked if the stadium has the state of the art CCTV system as it is claimed it has why this big brother approach has been taken in such a way which will clearly upset fans in visible surveillance. The mystery two are thought to be employed by operators London Stadium 185 as part of their part of Operation Stow in combination with the police and the club.
Police say they will soon publish photographs in the next few days of at least 18 supporters wanted in connection with troubles at the Watford and Chelsea games at the London Stadium. They will ask for the public’s help in identification.
Perhaps they will find personalised xmas cards with their photos on the front in the post 😉
