Big Hammers question may well be answered against Lens

By Hughie Southon

David Moyes is virtually certain to put out his likely starting eleven for the match against RC Lens tomorrow (Sat) and that should see Gianluca Scamacca make his first appearance in claret and blue.

Most supporters will be praying that the Italy international can put an end to the awful form of strikers we have seen from the Hammers forwards we have seen down the years.

It seems likely that Lukasz Fabianski will retain the goalkeeping sweater whilst Vladi Coufal Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell will make up the back line.

Oggy was involved with the under 23s last week and hjs presence will give Moyes the left sided central defender we missed via his absence last season and will be missing as a result of Nayef Aguerd’s injury.

Decisions in midfield will answer a big question of how the land lies between Tomas Soucek‘s whom we hope is included alongside Declan.

It will be interesting to see if the manager opts to play Mikey wide left with Jarrod, Pablo Fornals and Scamacca making up the eleven.

  1. Maybe he will play Downes alongside Dec with Soucek in a more advanced role ?

  2. Playing Cresswell at left back against city first game is moyes really that stupid .

  3. Agree with this team apart from goalie. Think it’s now time for Areola to be number 1.

  4. No Lanzini?
