Big interest from four clubs in Irons midfielder

Josh Cullen has become a big target for relegation threatened Premier League clubs and top of the table Championship promotion contenders.

The Hammers extended his contract by another year earlier in the season and it will be fascinating to see what David Moyes decides he has in future for the player.

The manager considers himself something of an expert in finding Championship players who are good enough for the Premier League – always assuming we survive this campaign.

And after a couple of impressive seasons with Charlton on loan, Josh will be awaiting further decisions on his future with huge interest.

Seems bottom of the table Norwich are interested  whilst West Brom boss Slaven Bilic – who knows the guy’s game inside out and backwards – along with Leeds are both keen on the midfielder.

Bournemouth too are reported to have an eye on a player who has remained on the Hammers fringes throughout his career.

Cullen has caught the eye this term during his second season on loan at Championship Charlton, emerging as one of the division’s standout midfielders despite the Addicks’ struggles.

The Hammers still need to organise a long term deal if they are to seriously fight off interst from the player’s admirers.

Cullen made his West Ham debut back in the 2015/16 season and has featured nine times in total for the Hammers’ first team, building up the bulk of his senior experience during loan spells at Bradford, Bolton and, most recently, Charlton.

He has also broken into the senior Ireland setup and is due to be part of Mick McCarthy’s squad for their upcoming Euro 2020 play-off against Slovakia.

  1. No surprise there, it’s nailed on that he has the ability to play at Premiership level. Chelsea can believe in their youth and give their talented youngsters a break……… But we can’t for some unknown reason. Cullen is OBVIOUSLY Noble’s successor and another of the ridiculous decisions Pellegrini made that he probably regrets in not keeping Cullen at the club. Pellegrini is probably just above Avi Grant in cluelessness in my opinion.

  2. Have watched Charlton play as often as possible. He has been injured this season but dominates when playing. Should be given a run when we get rid of Lanzini.

  3. Will boss our midfield next season in the championship!
    Let’s hope not.

  4. And all this is supposed to happen before the season ends ??
    Get real , please .
Players are sent out on loan for one reason & one reason only ; they are not quite up to it when it counts in the Premiership and it’s a tough ride for any player . There is a player we should have recalled : no prizes for guessing who . Both or three managers know Cullen !,
So why hasn’t he been included?? . Ask the managers concerned . All this chit chat is pointless . We are close to being relegated and our concerns should be for tomorrow , not for ghost stories .
