Randolph to be ‘pick of the bunch’ against Cherries

|

DarrenMedia claims that Robert Green will re-join West Ham before lunchtime today – with  Darren Randolph going the opposite direction to Loftus Road – seem very wide of the mark!

Yesterday, boss Slaven Bilic backed his reserve goalkeeper in the pre-match press conference.

“Darren is doing well and he is an experienced goalkeeper, an international, so I’m expecting him to be in goal,” Bilic told reporters ahead Saturday’s clash against newly promoted Bournemouth.

Referring to the 16 goals he has let in against Bournemouth in three previous matches, Bilic added: “It’s very short-sighted to say he has a problem with Bournemouth. It happened once. When I played in Germany. We beat Valencia 7-0 in the Uefa Cup, but it was once.

“You can’t say that we were better than Valencia as a club, so I believe in Randy. He is experienced, he is good and he played in so many games and what happened with Bournemouth could happen to anyone or to him against any other team.”

It amuses me how so many Hammers fans are now experts on Randolphs days at Brum, dismiss him as a dodgy keeper there.Well all i can say is i have a Brum supporting friend who was more than happy with him as a keeper for them,he said he had some excellent matches.Lets give the guy a chance for god sake.

Blimey, somebody finally came out and said something positive about OUR goalkeeper. How did the PR Director let that happen!?

If its the same PR director who let Sullivan gob off, he should’ve been tinned by now.

I am very nervous but I am hoping that a solid defensive performance and a clean sheet will give the lad some confidence to take into the next couple of games. He is obviously a better keeper than us hammers have seen so far. Pre season he has looked nervous and uncomfortable, but he is an international keeper and played 91 times for Birmingham in the Championship so as a back up he is not a bad option but he scares the hell out of me on what I have seen.

Can’t judge him against Bournemouth but have seen enough against the part timers to be shutting my eyes every time they get a corner or shoot,
Are defence needs to be at its best to cut out mistakes and not allow players an easy option outside the box,
We just need to score more goals than them,
