Slaven Bilic will be spoiled for choice up front this weekend as the Hammer head for Selhurst Park.

ClaretandHugh understands that every forward at the club is now fit for the first time this campaign thus presenting some difficult choices for the manager.

Andy Carroll, Enner Valencia and Mauro Zarate – who has looked outstanding in training – are all in the frame and will be battling for a role.

However, it’s quite possible that Manuel Lanzini will hold on to his first team shirt as the player to take the weight off Dimitri Payet up front.

Manager Slaven Bilic made a point of pointing to his contribution after the last game against  Norwich City and is likely to stick by him.

Carroll is more likely to be handed a place on the bench along with Valencia but the manager will wait until nearer the weekend after running fitness checks on the remainder of his players before naming the squad.

    Happy days !!!!!
All we need now is song then we are up and running !!!
At some point we will have to see if carol can cut it in this side so he will have to start a game from the off , but is he 100 % ? Believe it when I see it .!

The right back spot and Mr Noble are the only 2 issues to sort before the game on Saturday
But no need for many changes

What this match is, is a ‘no excuses’ match. We have a virtually 100% team all ready to play and CP are the kind of teams we have to beat if we want to be a top end team.
These are the players that have been acquired to achieve that goal. Now it’s ‘put your money where your mouth is’ time, so to speak. No more excuses please. Just do it

Think you are being very dismissive of Palace Canchaz.Even with a full team this is a bloody tough match for us.The way you speak is as if a loss means we are crap.Where have the previous ‘excuses’ you want no more of come from.I have seen few excuses on show so far this season when a result hasnt gone our way.I would venture to say that Palace will win far more than they lose this season & at home they are a very tough assignment for almost any team who goes there.

Yeah, Palace are a well drilled side & will fight for the ball. They deserve to be where they are & this is a tough game & will really let us know where we stand. A point would be a great result. They have only been beaten at home by City & Arsenal. City took until injury time to do it & Arsenal didn’t do it easy. We have a good squad, real test this one though.

Will certainly tell us where we are at this time, I hope Cresswell recovers from his knock and Valencia is fit to start, in terms of first team squads there isn’t an awful lot in it between us and Palace and we both have good managers. Whoever scores first goal will be in pole position to play the counterattacking style both teams are utilising. If I have one worry at the moment it is that we still haven’t shown a great propensity to break down inferior teams by playing smart posession football, we are missing the deep lying playmaker like a Modric, when Song comes back he will give us some playability from deep but his main strength is to break up opponents plays and be the glue between defence / midfield being available for passes and holding the ball long enough for the team to move into a more attacking shape before setting the move in motion.

    • Ohiord says:

Yes 32, both very similar styles as you say & this could be a very open & exciting match. The injuries are minor & hopefully they will be right. Moses will be up for this. Most of their goals come from midfield or Ward at the back & Palace are very good at set pieces. It will all come down to who takes their chances on the day & we have a good one there in Sakho. Cracking game this but we play well away & a result is possible. Looking forward to this one whatever happens.
