Slav on Sturridge story: “I’d also take Messi!”

|

bilicSlaven Bilic has told a press conference that two players could be leaving West Ham during this transfer window.

There are a couple of players who may leave the club maybe Zarate, maybe Jelavic and then if that happens and it may happen we are trying to get one striker”  Slav told the press this morning.

One reporter asked “How close is Zarate? that seems quite close going to Fiorentina.

“In football you know, sometimes it looks close and then it is not or the other way round but it looks quite close that he is going to Fiorentina.” Bilic added

Bilic was asked about the Brentwood Gazette story of Daniel Sturridge joining West Ham. With a smile Bilic said “That is only a rumour, there is nothing behind it to be fair. I am not talking about do we want or whatever, Daniel Sturridge is Daniel Sturridge, he is a big player, a big name, a great player but it’s only paper talk. I would take Messi also but it is also an if so there is nothing in it!”

It wouldn’t surprise me if the fantasist on the football desk at the Brentwood Gazette doesn’t declare our offer for Messi – and Bale + Ronaldo + Neymar – tomorrow.

There is something beautiful about the way Bilic expresses himself, I am growing increasingly fond of our manager for every statement.

Its his honesty that is so refreshing & his humour – its so refreshing to see a manager in a presser treating the public as equals rather than gullible idiots
