Slaven Bilic has claims Andy Carroll is not for sale in January.
The Hammers forward has been often linked in the press with his former club Newcastle and his ex-boss Sam Allardyce at Sunderland despite scoring only one goal this season for the Irons.
The injury-jinxed striker faces a fitness test on a groin problem before the Boxing Day clash at Aston Villa.
Asked if he is on the market next month, replied said: “I don’t think so, I don’t think so. We need players, we need him fit, we need him back. He fits into my plans. I said this from the start and that didn’t change.”
“Hopefully that injury is not too bad. When he is fit, he’s a big asset for us, he’s a big weapon, it’s hard to play against him. When he has his presence, his hunger, his ability, of course he’s really important for us.”
I am delighted to see that Matt Jarvis has gone to Norwich, he is a good player and probably was very unlucky at west ham. I would also say the same about Andy Carroll, he has been unlucky at west ham in terms of injury so if I was him and I was involved with West Ham, I would consider selling him in Jan if the right offer came in. He needs change of environment if not just that it may bring him a change of luck. I would also consider sending Jenks back to Arsenal, pay the fee but get him off the salary. I would also look at letting Jelevic leave. Question marks also remain over Obiang and Zarate. I would keep both simply because if Song does not recover from injury and Noble does not improve his form then Obiang has to get his chance. If we let Jelavic and Carroll go we need Zarate and I think he has a lot more to offer than these two, I would love to see him play upfront simply because he is a finisher.
