Bilic: Change of system on the cards

JS77699049Slaven Bilic has made it clear that a “change of system” is on the way after another devastating injury blow – this time to Diafra Sakho.

Although the extent of his injury is unknown at this stage, the manager is worried that a long absence may be on the cards.

He said: ““We’re still waiting until the specialists see him. But it doesn’t look good. It’s a muscle injury, a big blow for us.

“He’s our key player. We have lost players in those positions and they are hard to replace. As a result we have to change the system.

“But moaning or commenting isn’t going to help us at all. We have to continue to pick up the points.”

It’s a massive blow with both Dimi Payet and Enner Valencis injured and  Andy Carroll now has a major role to play over the next few weeks.

  1. We do seem to get our fair share of injuries to key players.

Leicester have had one major one, hence they’ve kept a fairly settled matchday squad and with that comes consistency.

  2. The second we changed the system and took Obiang off we fell apart,
Yes Carroll can replace Sakho up top or Jelavic but we need Obiang to give Lanzini license to play from the back like in the first half,
Moses is offering nothing at the moment and all though I am a fan Zarate does more on and off the ball to make things happen,
Carroll with Zarate through the middle and 3 tight behind Lanzini with The full backs giving us the width,
Carroll needs to work on holding the ball and getting his body between the defender and the ball instead of looking to flick the ball on every time,
Reid looks happier with Ogbbona as a partner it’s the right back position that needs sorting and maybe giving Oxford a run there would pay off if Tomkins does not give us the attacking options

  3. I agree with half the stuff you said bubs but I disagree with your opinion of Moses performance I think he was class yesterday offering a lot of width and although his touch wasn’t great he still was making things happen so credit to him there and another thing why would we take jenkinson out ( he’s trained his whole life at rb) for Reece Oxford who hasn’t really played at rb he’s trained his whole life at CB and now West Ham are trying to make him a midfielder so why would it be a good idea to stick him rb when we already have one? Jenkinson didn’t have a bad game yesterday no one did really just the rub of the green weren’t on our side which has been the story time and time again

  4. To be a top class RB you need pace, be technically good (as full backs see a lot of the ball), and have a football brain. I believe Jenks has the first, not sure about the last two. What I do know is Oxford has all three. What is the harm in giving him a run there as he has more of a chance of nailing a place there than CB or midfield. Burke is nowhere near as good from what I have seen.

  5. SDIA agree with Jenkinsons training but he make real blunders and he is a liability at corners and free kicks where he thinks you get points for shirt pulling and body blocking people without looking at the ball not saying he is the only one but he is the worse I have seen,he does not have Cresswells ability at crossing or getting back when he looses the ball,
I said that he could cost us at the beginning of the season and did not mean the laughable wages we are paying and fee,Oxford has so much class he could do a better job until we sign a real class player, full backs are just as important as Forwards,
Moses on the ball looks average to good compared with our 2 Argies, but his work rate compared to them is very poor and he is in front of Jenks which makes us weak on that flank,
But Slav knows better then me what he wants to do I just say it as I see it
1 goal all season for all the chances he has had is not great ( Moses )
Oxford only played in midfield to cover Song and Obiang when they were missing now he can cover right back because our is missing

  6. tbh we need to start having multi-able systems so we can throw certain clubs off when we play them, otherwise we will become predictable and the results will start drying up like a used tampon.

  7. Oh no, please god no – don’t start with Carroll – he’s a donkey – even Jelavic is better than him!

Mind you, it’s ManU away next, so that’s a free hit really – we’re not expected to get much up there, so it’s a bit more time to get Sakho fit for the Stoke game – that’s a tough one!

  8. Its obvious people see things different concerning players but the time comes when you have to agree with the masses !!!
We have three week links at the moment !!!!
1 , moses who is possibly the most overrated big earner in the league !!!
I said this time and time again ! The eyes do not lie !!! Except for non footballing brains !!!!!
2 , jenkinson has been a liability all season , he is not good enough to play a RB role ,the best option would be Tompkins because when he has played there this season we achieved our best results to date !!!! Fact !!
3 , carol is not fit and I wonder if he will ever be fit after the last injury ? He looks dire at present and I feel for the lad !! I have not seen the service into him at a consistent rate but also when crosses have been put in he is not attacking from the best positions and to be fair he isn’t giving anybody a hard time !!! Big problem that IMO is not going to change any time soon!!!
WBA were the worst side to play us this year and we could not beat them !!!! They were dire
But we let them back into a game that they had no rights too !!
TKing obiang off for carol was in IMO brain dead !!! Why Ffs ?
If anything he should have played song from the off and then give obiang a run in place of for match fitness.!!!
We now have a huge problem up front now and jelovich ain’t the answer ?? Or carol at the moment !!
I would bring back Lee ! Nothing to lose !! Also give Antonio a run so we can decide if he can produce on the park and not 10 min Camino roles ??? Why again I ask don’t Bilic give him a full 90 mins in place of moses ? He surely can’t do no worse !!!
Man u next week ? Can’t see it getting any better lol ?
To have you’re 3 best players injured at the same time is dire for us so its looking more and more like a survival season unless we get a little lucky ,
The way its going at present we are bottom half material, ijurys are to blame and individual mistakes , and you can’t prevent either at the click of the fingers ???

  9. Thousands of fans and football minded people can see the problem and we do have options to change them, why is it that managers stick to a system to try to prove they are right,
We have been beaten or drawn with by every club that puts in 100% effort against us and only the clubs that feel they have more skill and it is beyond them to put effort in have lost to us,
We now have loss a lot of our big stars that can turn games so we need to fight like the smaller teams and show some guts, that means every player on the pitch,
Hippo was to proud to change Slav you can and need to if its not broken don’t touch it
It’s broken so tinker with things and sort them out
    Obiang and Kouyate works
    Reid and Ogbonna works
    Zarate and Lanzini works
Now build the team around the back bone
