Slaven Bilic: “Door still open for Calleri”

|

jonathan-calleri-800x504Slaven Bilic says Jonathan Calleri is not guaranteed to leave West Ham in January. Asked by a reporter at this morning’s press conference whether Calleri has played his last game in Hammers shirt Bilic replied:

“Not necessarily, No, Calleri has a different contract, both of the players are on loan for season but with Calleri there aren’t any conditions in that loan so with Calleri it is different”

Jonathan Calleri has been linked to a move to Spain and Turkey in recent days.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims that La Liga side Las Palmasare attempting to sign the 23-year-old to the Estadio Gran Canaria.

Turkish website Fanatik claimed Besiktas were very close to signing Jonathan Calleri on loan for the remainder of the season.  The article says Besiktas have made an agreement with Calleri’s holding club Deportivo Maldonado for €4m and now 23-year old is close to joining the Turkish club

I’d rather Calleri went out on loan than Fletcher. It’s a confidence issue with him, so a half season loan at someone like Barnsley or Ipswich may prove a good idea

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

I wouldn’t mind keeping him in reserve for the season, the loan fee was cheap and you never know what will happen with injuries, we don’t have an option to buy him so we don’t have any stresses there and he is injured by all accounts at the moment so will have to wait and see what happens.

  • Big Tone says:

I havnt seen enough of him to really be able to make a call on him.I saw a bit of him in the Olympics & he looked good. What i have seen of the lad for us before he was injured was all too fleeting to say yay or nah.
He seemed to be quite highly rated & wanted so he must have something going for him.

Let’s hope that’s the exit door he’s talking about 🙂
