Slaven Bilic wants to see Michail Antonio progress this afternoon and reckons one of the keys is that he doesn’t try to over impress.
It’s a line used by David Gold to ClaretandHugh after the winger’s sub appearance at Manchester United last weekend and Bilic who admits he’s asking a lot of the £7 million signing today.
He said: “I don’t want him to burn out now if he tries to show in 15 or 90 minutes what he didn’t have a chance to do over two months. I’m expecting a lot .
“I’ve had a few talks with him since he came here. He didn’t have many chances. He played the last 20 minutes against Manchester City and I told him at that time he had to wait for this chance.
“We didn’t buy him not to play.
“The problem for him and the good situation for me is we had players in those positions who were playing really well. His chance came and the way he trains, and [the way he] played for Forest, I expect a lot from him.”
He can over impress me if he wants,I would love him to rip the left back to bits and provide the ball for Carroll to score some goals,
Give it a real go Antonio get those fantastic fans behind you and bury Stoke early so we can have a relaxing day
