Bilic gives injury update

BilicWest Ham manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed that Manuel Lanzini and  Aaron Cresswell will be out for another week but Mark Noble has returned to the squad after suffering a minor toe injury. He also confirmed Kouyate will be out for a longer period adding not long but long enough.

Speaking to WHUFC.com Slav said: “I’m sure we have trained really good in Germany and in Austria and we are going to be ready for the start of the season. We are aiming for the game against Man United, but first we have Man City and all the players are still fighting for the jerseys. Tomorrow’s game counts for that, of course.”

Team news-wise, Bilic admitted Cheikhou Kouyate will be out for ‘a longer period, not long, long, long but long enough’., but there was more positive news regarding the absent Manuel Lanzini and Aaron Cresswell, who will be out for ‘a week’. Mark Noble returns to the squad after missing two pre-season with a toe injury, while Chicharito will again be involved as he continues to build up his match fitness.

  1. For Christs sake do not include the awful Noble in the team . We know what he gives us … … A donkey with no ability in midfield …. give the youngsters who are the future a chance . About time to go Noble…. you are holding us back .

    • As much as I’ve appreciated Mark Noble over many years, he was poor last season. He is the weakest link in West Ham’s midfield now if you pit him up against Obiang, Kouyate, Fernandes, Lanzini. Antonio and, when he’s available, Cullen too.

    • Call yourself a West Ham fan, should be ashamed of yourself. Granted he isn’t everyone’s favourite player, and you have a right to an opinion, but calling him a Donkey, when he has been a great servant is crap. You make it sound like being in the 1st team is his choice, Bilic picks the players. If I were Noble, I’d try and play for my team as long as possible.

  2. Calling Noble a donkey is highly disrespectful . Love the way our players are being encouraged to play by some fans .

    • They can’t Kevin ffs that’s the problem , byrum , fonts , Collins , noble, Snodgrass , ayew , not up to it , masuaku had a mare today , byrum was shyte noble non existent , Fernandez has silly faults in lapses of concentration and sloppy passing, not ready yet to start games,
People and good PR from gonzo today don’t fool anybody about pre season doesn’t mean nothing , it means nothing to man city as well and played us off the park. Next week is the test at the mancs , IMO we are in big trouble unless a full fit side is available , and it ain’t , sully better bring in some bods and quick before we start playing catch up , armchair rant over 😎

  3. Getting bored of seeing the same names bashing Noble over and over again. He’s had one average season and u want his head. Absolute joke of fans u are. He’s been our best captain for as long as I can remember, cut him open and u it would read iron for life. I hope he has an outstanding season to shut u haters up!!!

  4. You should assume that, unless for tactical reasons, a coach will always play the strongest team available.

If that includes ‘lesser’ players, the assumption is that ‘better’ players are not available.

My concern is the continued pressure put on our defence by players standing mesmerised and allowing the opposition all the space and time they need.

After 30 minutes of this game, with the same tactical naivity demonstrated as last season, the encumbent struggle during the next season, seems inevitable.

  5. Pretty much 4FF , its wrong to call noble a donkey , we should call him Nolan mark 2 😈
So luvvys the great captain slow as demonstrated so far this afternoon is to be treated with kid gloves just because he is Mr west ham 💩 there was a far greater player treated with utter distain by this club , bobby moore was hung out to dry so don’t come the I’m a claret and blue PR analyst about the treatment of group captain fekin hobble ! He’s done and you can’t see it , he knows he’s done but is in denial to himself , bilic needs to get a grip and dump him because defensively he is a liability , they walk past him with ease and every pass goes backwards ! Great servant yes great payer no , average at best , would he be missed not one bit, he’s slowly becoming a hate figure and he doesn’t deserve that but someone needs to smell the coffee ,

  6. I think Bilic is the problem to our injuries needless friendlies if I don’t put a decent run of results together by xmas can see him out as he ain’t really 1 of us we bleed claret & blue does he?

  7. Who the Bl00ming heck coaches these players!!
The back 4 are experienced internationals but play like Sunday league pub team… Apologies to the Sunday leaguers.

One thing is clear, you can’t play 4 at the back when Masuaku is one of them….
