Former Hammer Slaven Bilic who coached Turkish club Besiktas for two seasons has been linked to the vacant Fenerbahçe post in the Turkey with some reports claiming he is top of their list.
Ismail Kartal resigned from his manager post at Fenerbahçe last week after the final match of the 2014-2015 season against Kasımpaşa. The team finished the league at the second place just three points behind champions Galatasaray. Last year, Fenerbahçe had managed to win the title. Kartal stated that he asked club chairman Aziz Yıldırım to quit during a meeting and his request was accepted.
Reports in the Turkish media claimed that Fenerbahçe were in talks with Bilic however sources close to the manager denied those rumours saying he won’t manage in Turkey next year.
“This club will always stay in my heart. I’m so proud of everything we’ve done here.
“In the near future, I will not be in this country. But in Turkey, there is only Besiktas for me.”
