Bilic makes keeper decision

|

AdrianAdrian is all set to return to the Hammers team at Manchester City this evening (5.30 pm).

A debate about whether No 2 Darren Randolph would hold onto the sweater after keeping clean sheets against Liverpool and Newcastle has been going on all week.

But it always seemed unlikely and ClaretandHugh has learned that the Spanish stopper is set to return as the Irons set out in pursuit of an incredible treble.

Wins at Arsenal and Liverpool – followed by a convincing home victory have set hopes racing that what once looked a Mission Impossible may in fact become an achievable objective later this afternoon.

We understand that manager Slaven Bilic will return to the tried and tested No 1 with Angelo Ogbonna the only absentee from what otherwise will be a full strength team.

Adrian tweeted in midweek that he can’t get back into action quickly enough after a month on the sidelines following his late red card against Leicester City.

And we are informed that he will be back between the posts for the big TV match.

I like Adrien a lot but would have like Randolph to be rewarded for his last 2 games especially after the way he was treated by some fans and the press when Adrien got red carded

randolph has done well as a back up keeper which is what he was bought in for but when it comes to goalkeepers you have to choose your best available and in this case that’s Adrian. Randolph has done himself a lot of favours though and after poor showings in Europe he has come good and proved that we have a decent backup keeper to call on when needed and in the cups etc.
