Bilic: Mourinho is best around

MourinhoSlaven Bilic reckons  Jose Mourinho is still the best manager around.

The self proclaimed Special One has had a seriously dodgy start to the season who arrive at Upton park sitting in twelfth place.

But Bilic claims it’s nothing more than a blip and believes the Portuguese will lead them into the top four this season.

Speaking ahead of the gae he said: “It’s a big challenge for us, it’s a big test. It’s a special game because they are the champions.

“And you can easily say he is the best manager around. He’s been doing it all his career, he’s brilliant. He’s Jose Mourinho!

“It just shows how strange football is. It’s the same team, the champions.

“I know Mourinho and he’s always motivated. His teams are always hungry and everyone expected them, maybe not to be top after nine games, but not to be where they are now.

I watched most of their games. Sometimes you play the same way but you hit the post and the opposition don’t hit the post, when last year it happened the other way round.

“It doesn’t have to be anything major. You lose a couple of games – and from their point of view drawing is like losing – and suddenly people say ‘what happened to Chelsea?’ but it’s nothing big or major.

“If it was he would be the first to change it, but sometimes it’s those invisible things you can’t detect and you have to work hard to try to change it.

“Things will definitely change for them, we just hope it won’t be against us. I see them finishing in the top four.”

  1. Achy Breaky Heart Lyrics
Big Fat Sam, The Dinosaur Man, I Just Don’t Think You Understand, What Is The West Ham Way, The Super Slav Way, We Play Our Football On The Ground, whooooooooooo

  2. if we win, we could put Mourinho back on the Dole, for a short period of time, as it would not take to long for him to be snapped up by another big club, but those cheskii fans would be livid, so come on you irons, lets suck their eyes out 3 – 1 victory would be fantastic on Saturday

  3. Clever by Bilic talking up Mourinho and Chelsea in this situation, handing all the pressure over to them and deflecting it from West Ham. Also he’s putting Mourinho in a tough spot showing this level of respect and saying all those nice things about him.
Not sure it will entice Mourinho to show the same level of humility in his post match interview, but we’ll see.

  4. Lol,i dont think Mourinho has to say or do anything when it comes to Bilic. As i recall it i think Slav said Mourinho was the first or one of the first to text or call him to welcome him to the Premier League.Im sure Bilic made a point of thanking him for it 😉

  5. I would like to see how well Mourinho did with a club like Stoke or Watford with little money,
Because since Porto he has had it easy, this year has not come so easy and he has blamed everyone except himself,
He would probably prove me wrong but I don’t think he would even try now

  6. Tbf the guy is a top quality manager. He has proved it time & time again.Love him or loathe him he is or has been one of the best in modern times imo.

  7. While he is extremely annoying his record is fantastic and I honestly think a lot of his media and public appearances are a bit of an “act”. He likes to give off the “them vs us” mentality and that his persona in the background around his players is almost certainly different.
