Bilic on his “love” of Andy Carroll

Slaven-Bilic-Andy-Carroll-Football365Slaven Bilic is deseprate for an Andy Carroll return.

The manager has chosen to discuss his attitude towards the injury-ravaged AC despite the striker apparently being nowhere near a comeback.

He has likened him to  Diego Costa or Romelu Lukaku as a player who can change games and added: “I have a lot of feelings for Andy,” Bilic admitted.

He said: “I don’t hide it. I love Andy Carroll. Every time he has started or come off of the bench, he has been brilliant for us.

“It’s virtually impossible to mark him in the box and even outside the box he is brilliant also.”

And whilst the manager is banking on a fit-again Carroll to keep the Irons’ revival going he added: “I know he’s got a history – maybe it’s my mistake.

“When you want someone, you are hoping, always looking at the positive things… ‘He’s going to be alright’.

“I’m hoping he’s going to be back in a few weeks. We miss him.

“You see the impact that players like Romelu Lukaku or Diego Costa have on a game.

“They are changing the whole game – and Andy Carroll is like that for us.”

  1. OMG… it’s the first time I disagree with Slav… the only thing that Carroll has in common with Lukaku and Costa is the physical size. But what about his speed and the quality of his feet? An air of myth surrounds Carroll, but that’s not reflected in reality imho… it’s time for a change investing time and money in a real forward, it’s time to stop waiting for a player that essentially never existed… let’s face it, the Unplayable Andy was a huge flop. Personal opinion. 😉

    • Excellent Matte.Carroll is basically an impact player and as such is not worth all the money being thrown at a player mainly in rehab.

    • and mattefumi27 it’s the first time I agree with you! Comparing Carroll to costa is ridiculous from Slav. Costa doesn’t spend most of the time with his back to goal, he tries to look forward when he gets the ball and of course he has the pace that carroll badly lacks. Although I like Carroll as an impact sub when needed with his wages and injury record we have to get rid.

  2. What a complete Joke this makes us look, I rate and respect Slaven so highly but he can’t be compared to Lukaku.

Time the two Dave’s admitted that they were well and truly conned with Carroll, we should never have given him so long a contract after his loan season, and more stupid never the wage we agreed to pay him. Big Sam played his usual tricks, what he is being shown for now clearly.

  3. Slaven is just playing the game when asked a question.
What do you expect him to do,he isnt going to rubbish him is he.
