Bilic plans a winning Wenger payback!

|

slaven-bilic-penalti-icin-patladi-adama-dokunmadi-bilee-56164Slaven Bilic plans to pay back Arsene Wenger for setting him on the road to management by beating Arsenal tomorrow afternoon (Sun).

The Hammers boss revealed: “When I was preparing to become a coach myself, Arsene Wenger  was one of the managers I studied at work on the training field for a week.

“We’ve stayed in touch and, of course, I rate him very highly. Arsenal are not just role models for us, they are an example for all clubs to copy because of their history and the way they do things.

“But sometimes, the big teams don’t start the season well. I watched Arsenal play Palace in their first Premier League game last season, because their next game was against my Besiktas team in a Champions League play-off, and they won 2-1 with a last-minute goal.

“I remember the game well, and Palace deserved a point. You have to play against Arsenal some time, and you know it will be a tough game, but like most things in life it’s a matter of how you approach it.

“Some people try to look at these games as a bonus, where they have nothing to lose, and maybe we are not the favourites – but it is a great opportunity for us to show we are good enough, and it wouldn’t be the first time.”

Bilic  added: “Every manager’s heart swells when his team plays good football, but I am also pragmatic because it’s results that matter.”

Agreed GW.All i ever want is a manager & team who will go onto the pitch & give it a right good go.It aint always going to get you the result you want everytime but that is just how it is.What i couldnt stand last season was going into matches last season almost curling up into a ball just for the sake of damage limitation & so the managers large ego didnt get bruised. No more of that & i will be a happy fan.Bring on the new season, cant wait!!!

I’m with you GW the past is the past lets all look forward positively to the future West Ham United with the fans (on here at least, can’t expect miracles) united too.

How bout we let bygones be bygones, Kev no doubt you support the club but ban the hippo from your vocabulary lol, Canchez simply cheer up!! As for the rest of us let’s take the **** like we’ve always done but turn our anger towards something that deserves it.. So I suggest Mr Levy, Tottscum and those big headed knuckle shuffling ********s at Stamford bridge.. Once an iron always an Iron through good and bad, wear the shirt with pride back the team and do what we always been good at and **** off the establishment…

No it’s old hat but where Matte, and Hamburg has been very quiet,
With the injured the gooners have today we have a good chance of turning them over today,
It would just be nice to see Wenger not get lucky today,

You have seen the real Kev before … I rather tend to air my frustrations and annoyance too much at times ,, but West Ham is in my Blood , always has been and always will be .
With the right approach we can achieve something special .
Starting by ramming a few cannon balls down Arsenal’s throat before they can even powder up their guns .
    Come on you Hammers .

We’ve seen all the Kevs before lol but you’re always passionate with your views and I know you only want us to succeed

  • Radai Lama says:

Dont like this over-confidence.Lets try to respect the point. We cant go there being confident in our abilities.Btw we have lost the most ‘first day’ matches than any other prem club.I know you would all be pleased to know that, lol,ok,i just wanted to try the wetpants approach to supporting The Irons.I have got it out of my system now.Wouldnt mind a nice cake recipe though.Anyone watch The Great British Bake Off the other night 😀

    • GW says:

Didn’t get to see it Rads and was disappointed not to see a post bake off commentary on WHTID or statistical breakdown of yeast to flour ratio’s

Mmm Black Forest Gateau…….errrm I mean loving the positivity this morning not just from Slav but all the posters too…….so far lol

      • GW says:

Don’t be saying Black Forrest Gateau Quick !!some on here will think it’s a player we’re after from France and will be frantically searching YouTube and Wikepedia as we speak lol

      • Lt. Quickdrawovic 1st Slavalry C&H Regt says:

I better not mention Forrest Gump either that’ll throw them right over the edge,he had good stamina levels but was on a par with Noble in the brains dept….oops now I’ve done it lol

        • GW says:

At least Forrest Gump had magic legs which would have worked in a 4 1 3 2 formation.. Unfortunately the swap deal involving him and captain no legs fell through after he saw the Olympic stadium and carried on running apparently he’s been spotted at Junction 14 on the M25!!

        • Lt. Quickdrawovic 1st Slavalry C&H Regt says:

Lol the deal is still on then, give it a few hours and he’ll be back at J14

  • essexclarets says:

Isn’t it great to see & hear a manager who says that we are out to show everyone how good we are.. not how good the other team are & cover his arse in case we get thumped.
a manager who knows how passionate we all are & what it means to us to succeed or go down fighting. COYI

    • GW says:

Essex your spot on pal, a game that so many so called fans have written off.. Thank god we’ve got a manager with some balls who wants to prove how good we are not the manager wannabes who constantly tip relegation…

  • GW says:

Positivity at last, a new season starts, a new dawn for West Ham, a manager who uses a press conference to big it up and not simply lay down.. And a new WHTID cake recipe book to hit the shelves on Monday lol… What a glorious time to be an Iron now bring on the Arse!!

  • Lt. Quickdrawovic 1st Slavalry C&H Regt says:

Haha will the real Kev please stand up. Loving the positivity please stay that way,no more doubting. Onwards and upwards! COYI!

  • kevin says:

” because it’s result’s that matter ” ,, of course it’s the result’s that matter , that’s a non brainer … But it is also the manner in which you earn those result’s . Let’s have a great and entertaining season and worry the so-called elite , starting with Arsenal . This is a new start for West Ham United , a second chance in our current premiership status to show the rest that we can Play Decent Football when called upon . This is not a new style we are talking about , rather a way back to the style we were once famous for .
    Come on you Hammers .

  • Lt. Quickdrawovic 1st Slavalry C&H Regt says:

What is this speaking of tongues? Surely everyone knows that you use the Friday press conference to lay out your excuses that the opposition are too good, they have a lot to fight for,our team are fatigued or there are leaves/wrong kind of snow on the pitch. That is the tried and trusted way laid down by our former footballing guru. Next thing you know the team will be passing and moving.
Good on you Slav! Yet another reason to consign the past to history.
