Bilic reveals his long Payet pursuit

|

bilicbirkikaraSlaven Bilic was delighted with the Irons performance declaring we had scored “at exactly the right time” and that the only time Newcastle had put us under pressure in the first 45 minutes was at the end of the half.

And the manager added that he was really proud of the team in the second half drawing particular attention to man of the match Dimitri Payet.

He explained that he had been the one  player he had really wanted the club to buy saying that although it had proved impossible he had tried to buy him when he was manager of Beskitas.

He said: “I was amazed because it only took five days to get it done  which was incredible. He’s not only a great players but he makes all the players around him better.”

He was glad to get his home win saying: “The two results against Arsenal and Liverpool we re great but you want to win your home games and send the fans home happy. You want to entertain them.

He told Sky Sports: “We reacted well in the games against Leicester City and Bournemouth, better than Arsenal and Liverpool did against us but of course this was a big result – a lief to me. I told them how good we could be if we cut out the sloppy mistakes.”

And looking ahead to the match against Manchester City he said: “They are playing the best football of any team in the country but we are looking forward to it.”

Payet will become a legend plus I don’t think he will move on,but we need to have a backup to him,Lanzini and Callum need to be groomed for this roll,
But it’s been along time coming waiting for Di Cannio, Brooking and Devonshire to be replaced, now we are spoilt with talent

It’s an exciting time to be a Hammer, it feels like our club is starting to build something great. From the ground up, the Academy back, a team that I’m hoping will names that become West Ham legend.
For the first time in years I’m getting those butterflies of excitement in ma belly days before the game.
    COYI!!!
