Former West Ham manager Slaven Bilic told BT Sport viewers that Dimitri Payet became too big for West Ham.
Bilic was asked how disruptive Dimitri Payet was in his last months at West Ham.
Bilic explained that he never caused problems saying he was a very quiet guy, the Croatian said he was the one who made the decision telling the chairman he had to draw a line.
The former manager said “I tried to explain to the chairman that one player is too good for a club, which he was”
“I told the chairman you have two solutions to solve the problem, one, every year you give him a new contract, every year give him a little bit more and you keep him happy or two sell him. The third option we were doing, the club or whatever was No you have a contract, you stay, you have to perform. To give credit to the chairman, he gave him a contract only six months after he came to the club so he didn’t want to do it again every six months”
“The players started to wonder, what did we do wrong?”
“I told him go to Man Utd or Juve, don’t go to Marseille!”

What happened with him will happen with Anderson and Rice unless the chairmen invest, I won’t blame them for leaving if you are at the top you want to play alongside players at your level it’s human nature. Most of our squad need upgrading, Keep MP’s signings except Perez and maybe Sanchez, keep Rice if we can, Zaba too the rest of we can upgrade them do it.
