Bilic talks on Sturridge connection

daniel-sturridge-danny-liverpool-manchester-united-premier-league_3001952Slaven Bilic has refused to rule out a summer move for Daniel Sturridge and has admitted: “We are going to see. We have our list of strikers.”

At one stage during an interview the Irons boss described the Liverpool front man as “unbelievable” adding: ““They have a lot of quality there and I don’t like to comment on the decisions of other managers.”

Sturridge was again missing from the Reds team that lost to Palace last Sunday having suffered from a hip injury continuing a miserable run of injuries that has limited him to five league starts this season after making 18 in the previous two campaigns.

Bilic said: “If you talk about him as a player, especially if you go back two or three seasons he was unbelievable. But [at the time] he wasn’t a subject for West Ham.

“Now he plays very rarely, but I watched Stoke against Liverpool the other day. He came on and, with a couple of passes, he broke their defence. He split them up some great passing.

“I don’t know the situation there. I don’t see their training. I’ve just seen enough of their games to know that when they are fit they are doing well. Especially in that area with Mane, Coutinho and Lallana.

“So what can I say?

“When he is on fire, [Sturridge] is a great player.”

  1. Ideal choice. Hammers supporters are used to their main striker never playing so it is hardly going to lead to people slagging off the transfer policy. Come on- this can’t be serious!

May be only paper talk but one of them is saying Antonio has had enough & wants out this summer. May be the agent negotiating for a good contract. But it it may also be the owners trying to run the club on the cheap. I have been a defender of the owners on here many times, but my loyalty will be really tested if we lose this guy because we refuse to pay him a fair whack. It might be a good test of where this club is heading.

  2. With our current manager we know where we are going….The Championship.
