Bilic: “The board will do what they do!”

bilicbirkikaraSlaven Bilic looked like a man waiting for the sack immediately after the game.

Asked bout his position at the club by the Sky after match reporter he declared: “The board will do what they decide to do!”

And asked why the team put in such a thorough despicable performance he added: “I don’t know. It looked good on the training pitch and we were up for it so I don’t know.

“It wasn’t good enough. We have been here before but as I say the board will do what the board will do.

“With all due respect to Brighton we saw this as a game that we could win and start sending ourselves up the table but it just wasn’t good enough.

“We dominated between the first and second goals but it was so hard to come back from that sort of position and I have to take the full responsibility for this result.”

  1. And, the board must sack Bilic. He IS clueless & so are the players. We can’t get rid of all of them – although they deserve to go ! So, it is easier to get rid of Bilic. But, if I were him, I would resign with honour & dignity.

  2. And take Arnoutivic and Chek with him?

  3. Bilic has to go, that was a shambles, he was playing Kouyate up front in the first half, Antonio either got injured when he went down in the first half, or he just gave up, he was shocking for the rest of the game, no effort whatsoever.

  4. It was a dire performance from your team Slaven . No if’s or buts . If you can’t motivate them to play as a team or perform as a unit then you should resign . It’s a tough job and we all agree about that but , the way we are playing has to stop . The LS as football ground is now past excuses . It’s a Football pitch after all and we expect to at least see our team play Football .
First to comment but , I really am fed up now with watching the club I grew up with going down the tubes . It seems all the players talk a good game and then go dumb on the field of play . It’s your job to put things right and you ain’t doing it . We all want you to get it sorted but it seems you can’t . Don’t know now just how many teams have stopped Thier bad runs against us . It’s embarrassing . So many new signings with the promise of great times ahead got us all excited . Suddenly they become average when they play for us . Time to call it a day .

  5. You have to be worried when Slav confesses that he “didn’t know why the team lost”
We lost the game before it even started, through Bilic’s desperate idea to re-implement the 4-2-3-1 formation.
I am not prepared to blame the players for this loss; they had shown considerable improvement when we were using the 3-5-2 or the 4-4-2 formation. By reverting back to the 4-2-3-1, we looked totally lost and disorganized.

  6. We didn’t dominate squat at any point in the game, we moved the ball slowly and allowed an organised team to stay organised, we kept putting high crosses into a box with defenders a foot taller and bigger than our forwards, that is brainless football, until the third goal went in we were completely static, other than Zab, Masuaku And Hart who deserves some credit for a couple of decent saves the rest of the team were 1 or 2 out of 10 performances, I would struggle to give a Brighton player more than a 5 out of 10 but we made them look like Brazil they most definitely are not that !!

  7. Has got to resign. Or be sacked. He’s lost the fan base and there’s no way back now.

  8. Sullivanhas not helped with that dreadful prematch interview. If he does want to do the right thing now he will make the club look even more of a joke(is that possible). He came across as smug -& clueless. Why say all that about sitting down at the end of the season to discuss things when we are on 8 points! Will now be back in the relegation zone & will be slaughtered by Palace who did change their manager & are on the turn. Trying to present what is in my opinion a financial decision as a ‘moral’ one- just embarrassing. Going on about the club becoming self financing? Revisit that one in12 months old chap when the LS is half full for the visit of Burton Albion. He has turned us back into a joke club.

  9. Last night was the worst of what have been some dire displays since we moved to the OS.
Woeful is an understatement but to be honest I don’t think anyone was shocked because we have seen it too many tines and enough is enough
Slav was never my ideal choice but after that first season I was totally duped and thought we were nearly at that next level….ok Payet saga was unfortunate but it has been slav’s tactics, the clear lack of fitness of the squad and his refusal to give youth a chance that have made me lose any respect that I might have had of him as a coach….he has to go
We already need a miracle to avoid relegation and the sad thing is I don’t see how good young managers like Hughton and Dyche or proven “big names” like Benitez could possibly be tempted to come and manage under Sullivan and Gold
